Card readers should work from other banks, but Barclays use a different reader to Tescos, who use the same as NatWest and Nationwide......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

If you opened yours before they withdrew the bonus in early January, 4%.
I did apply before they withdrew the bonus. However they keep sending me info tht the rate has reduced (three or four reductions so far). Just wondering what people have as the current rate as I have it as 3.6% with 1.5% bonus to make it 5.10%.
As that makes it my highest paying account, I wanted to be certain it is that rate0 -

I got a replacement card from Tesco today Funny I did not have a card in the first place and I have not got a reader yet. What should I do?0

Does anyone know the date of the deadline for receiving the Clubcard points? I thought it was 31/12/08, but when I rang Tesco they said it was 30/11/08 so I am not eligable for my points.0

I too got a replacement card despite not previously having a card. However, as I'm still waiting (6 weeks and counting since opening account) for the card reader and pin number I'm hoping I might be able to withdraw something by Easter!0

I may be wrong, but I vaguely remember someone posting that, because of the delays Tesco were having with issueing the accounts, the deadline was extended to December, but I'm not absolutely sure about this.0 -
Why do we need a reader? Most providers just do a simple bank transfer. There is no email contact for them unlike most other banks.I too got a replacement card despite not previously having a card. Wed 7 Jan - applied for account online
Mon 12 Jan - received app form to sign, sent back next day
Thu 5 Feb - initial deposit cheque banked
Sat 7 Feb – received account no and sort code by post and invited to register online
Sat 7 Feb – registered online “part 1”, returned ‘confirmation of signature’ letter
Fri 13 Feb – received registration code and completion online registration ‘part 2’. Ordered card reader.
Do I need to order the card or should this (and the PIN that goes with it?) arrive automatically? The letter doesn't make it clear you need to do anything else - I only ordered the card reader right away because of reading about it on here. I imagine a lot of people don't realise they need a reader until they try and take some money out.0 -
I only ordered the card and reader when I was thinking about putting more money in. I always test my accounts before putting a large amount as I feel I may need the money and if anything goes wrong then I will be in difficulty. I only put in £20 in 2 goes. I do not plan to put in any more until I can run the account.0
