    Hi again!
I know it might be depressing to be on JSA but I would really recommend you get it, I mean that's what it is there for to help you get a job! I understand where you're coming from though, alot of my graduate friends have been on it recently, and we live in the North East where unemployment is the highest in the country! When my contract at work finishes I'll probably have to claim JSA trying to get a new job! There's just no hopes for graduates at the moment...

Good luck with getting your free TV from amazon! :)

    Happy new year everyone :),

I might have to Gemma, I'll see how trying to get a job goes, but I'm also still going to write to the princes trust. I got paid today so I have £350 sitting in my account, but £220 of that is to insure my car, and the rest I will probably need to get it through its MOT. I'm terrified as I don't know how much that will cost.

I reached £10 on a scratchcard yesterday, I've withdrawn £5 from ciao, and I'm finally going to decide which voucher from consumer pulse, so I've added that to my totals.

My aims for this year are:

Fill my ISA for 08/09 tax year (about £1500 left)
Pay £1400 off of my overdrafts by August without having to take it out of the ISA
Fill my ISA for the 09/10 tax year
    Start the business
Get a job I don't hate or is at least reasonably paid to give me some extra cash
Get my free TV :D - I think I'm going to add a section for this to my totals
Be money neutral for presents as much as possible

So I'm not asking much ;) lol.

*edit* Consumer pulse do Amazon vouchers! Either they didn't do them til recently, or I'm an idiot and didn't know about it. Either way I'm a happy bunny :D.

    Morning everyone.

I've got a whole £3.95 from quidco today, and I've withdrawn another scratchcard £10 to add to my total. I think I'll put £14 in my ISA for now, though if my car fails its MOT I might have to take it out to get it repaired. That said my dad has a lot of money floating around in his current account so he might let me borrow it for a month or two so I don't have to take it out of my ISA. I should really do a bit of positive thinking, the car has only done about 4000 miles since its last MOT so maybe it will pass? God knows...

Anyway, I'm £225 lighter having paid for my car insurance this morning, but I'm hoping it will track and I'll get £45 back through quidco.

My other tasks for today are book my MOT, write my Prince's Trust letter, CLEAR UP (that's a big one), and, erm, I swear I've forgotten something else...

I haven't got it yet lilmiss, but I don't think we'll have any problems with them arriving. I was going through my email backlog the other day and found the newsletter from IPSOS saying that they now do Amazon vouchers, at the bottom it said to still allow the regular time for them to arrive, so unfortunately they aren't instant. I'll let you know when mine arrives but I'm going to give it a month before getting worried.

Afternoon everyone, just another very brief update.

I logged into Topcashback last night and was quite happy to see that my football pools had changed to payable. I wasn't necessarily expecting this as I only actually wagered £5 and withdrew the rest of my deposit.

I've also joined the live on £4000 for a year challenge, though I'm not off to a very good start having paid for my car insurance & MOT already, though it will even out as the year progresses. At some point later today I'm going to attempt to draw up a food budget for my dad as I'm the one that does most of the cooking in our house. As my sister is at uni most of the time there are only really three of us now, so I'm hoping to get as close to about £25 as I can. If I'm honest my dad needs all the help he can get.

    Just another update...

I've withdrawn another scratchcard £10, which I added to my ISA. I've also added £5 from my current account to take my ISA target to just under £1400.

As far as my living on £400 target has gone, yesterday I spent £1.40 on parking (usually I walk, but the wind was so icy yesterday I'd rather part with the cash). I also spent 29p on a cold drink and £6.98 in Asda. I was quite happy with that though, as I managed to get about £35 worth of food for £5 as part of that which will help the food budget :). The amazon vouchers aren't coming in very fast, but topcashback has sent the £25 to my bank account today so I should be able to spend that soon (possibly on a lambda sensor which will cost about £100 fitted if my car fails its MOT tomorrow). Fingers crossed it will pass, but I'd be very surprised if it did.

    Thanks :). I don't think I'm doing too badly considering I don't have a permanent job.
