Icesave compensation payouts... how to keep the pressure up

Does anyone know if compensation for loss of Interest on a Icesave Fixed rate Bond will be paid as well as the original capital?0

Hey Guys, how about November 5th? We could give the powers that be both a verbal and physical rocket.
Yeah, because there's nothing newsworthy happening on November 4th, like an American presidential election or anything.
If nothing has happened by early November, there's surely no point trying to get it back on the news agenda the same week as we find out who the next American president is. The media here will go mad for that story.
Like someone else said, maybe tying it in with the pre-budget report would be better?
I've got an Icesave ISA, and I'm not worried yet...these things take time, and it's only been a couple of weeks. It is an unprecedented event.0 -
We have written to our MP & Alistair Darling, and to date neither have bothered to reply.
http://www.writetothem.com/ & darlinga@parliament.uk
then tell him you won`t be voting for him next time...
I emailed my MP on friday and so far received 2 emails back, this is part of his last one....

In view of the uncertainty surrounding this matter, I have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer on your behalf and have requested his urgent intervention to ensure that UK savers are properly protected in terms of their investment and that assistance is given to depositors to reclaim their savings from this failed bank.
As soon as I have received a response from the Chancellor of the Exchequer, I will be in contact with you again."0 -
Does anyone have any clue as to how we'll be paid?
I still think it'd be brilliant if the government transferred all of the funds and created their own nationalised version, or put everything into Northern Rock etc.
Well it would be nice but I imagine that the reason they won't do that is because then they might have to pay back and guarantee all the debt including all the corporate losses rather than just the personal account holders?
I am sure that the FSCS are looking at all options and understand the ins and outs of which is best for the country and will cause the least hassle for the Icesave savers.0 -

Will we get paid interest on our savings when we get reimbursed?0

This thread was started by Martin, and looking at all these blogs.... we are shifted from the main topic.
ACTION is required. I think, Martin is right.... I will join the protestors.
Guys!! if we can gather a media interest in icesave again.... we can see our money back soon.
What I see.... the government officials went to ICELAND before as well.... What happened?? we heard the statement "ACCELERATED PAYOUTs".... Then we heard the statement "A STEP CLOSER" by FCSC. Now we will hear "JUST THERE".... What is this??? I see all this as a crap.
Let's get back to the main topic of this thread.... and make an impact in an organised way.0 -
..........sooooooooooooo we are going to lend Iceland £3 billion so they can pay us our money back....errrrrrrrrr ....cut out the middleman???0

Just pointing out that ICESAVE (as opposed to Kaupthing and Heritable) had NO Corporate or Charitable depositors - they weren't permitted to take them - and consequently - on this specific score - would not be ruled out from an electronic transfer - which would be - as ICESAVE was - for individual retail depositors.0 -
This morning.... King (governor, Bank of England) has announced that Britain is in RECESSSION..... Once the whole economy goes down.... dont expect that ICESAVE will be an hot-issue.
I am not creating panic here.... But if some one like Martin (who is not an icesaver), is informing us something useful.... we should appreciate.... rather then being argumentative about other issues.
So, my message again is ACT, ACT..... and i think, if we dont see FCSC forms in our post or FCSC new Icesave compensation www, we shud get out of this VIRTUAL WORLD of e-banking and e-blogging and be there physically on 5 or 6 Nov.
I shud remind you all.... our money was not in electronic form or VIRTUAL!! (like credit)... It was our hard earned savings!!0
