I too round up to the pound when filling, as I cannot stand loads of loose change, and I always pay in cash. I don't think it is weird to round, and nor is wrong to query if there is a penny difference.
Uktim - I very much doubt if Zippy made a big fuss, he/she has already stated it was a company fuel thing - not personal. However I'm sure he/she appreciates the interest that you have taken in him/her.Watch this space...0 -
WHY OH WHY Do customers moan when they knock the pump over by a penny then refuse to pay it? or give another note to pay the penny, THEN ACCUSE ME OF KNOCKING IT OVER, HOW CAN I DO IT?
Or people who refuse to pay the penny then demand a VAT receipt then claim the full amount back
Cheek of you customers
(No personal snipes required)
Are these people really your customers? Don't sound like it, f they were you would let your customers of a penny, like many customers wont hang about for a penny change.I don't have a ladder in my tights, I have a stairway to heaven.0 -

I mean, you dont own the garage do you? Are you an employee. If you owned the garage then the money you take from your personal customers hands would be yours, so you would have a lot more respect for them. Maybe this is your real problem because all that money isnt yours and your under paid.I don't have a ladder in my tights, I have a stairway to heaven.0 -
Customers have no respect for the staff so why should the staff extend that courtesy to them?I mean, you dont own the garage do you? Are you an employee. Alot steams from abuse given to staff to be honest, or they demand a VAT receipt and not pay the full amount0 -
Just out of interest, did you make a fuss in the garage and threaten to go to TS?
Hi, asked in the garage, they didn't know, so contacted TS.
Stopped getting annoyed at people years ago! Learn't years ago that it gets you nowhere - fast.
Just chill now and make sure that I come to a fair compromise with out getting stressed - Karma and all that!:rolleyes:0 -
I used to work in a petrol station.
What used to absolutely baffle me was the number of people who managed to drive off leaving their petrol caps behind.......often with their keys still stuck inside them! How can you drive off without your keys?
Or the idiot old bloke who insisted that he was allowed to stand in the middle of the forecourt smoking a fag. He really argued the toss with me. Idiot."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
When I worked in a petrol station a guy bought a packet of fags. When I told him the price he said "I know, I can read." He then promptly went outside where there were probably about 20 no smoking signs and lit up. He obviously couldn't read that well and got a telling off from me over the tannoy.0
