Well Done Donna , glad you have bookings into June . I think you are right about cancellations , I book as many as possible in because in my experience about 30% go down or move dates . I guess Ive now just accepted it as part of the business and try not to let it get me down and concentrate on what i have got rather than what I haven't . Ive had weeks where all the parties haven't held and then the following week they all hold , you just can't tell . This business is like a roller coaster one min you are up , the next you are down . I suppose the most important thing is to keep at it and don't give up.

Exactly!!!!!!!! I've only done 4 in May so far and 1 mroe to do and then go on holiday as my OH comes home in just over a week but now in June I have 11.

Thats brilliant Donna , 11 parties is great . I think the Wags premotion is really helping with bookings , they ought to do more premotions like this

On the P/L trip front we are beginning to get worried ,we are meant to be flying out on wed and what with all this volcanic ash , add to this the B.A strike that is planned for next week. I'm just worried about getting stuck in Hong Kong . The flight from Scotland is with B.A , so not sure if P/L are going to try and sort somthing else out if the flight is affected by the strike

I was talking to another leader this morning who is going and she's getting a bit worried becuase of the ash and the BA strike. I think she's going Cathay Pacific from Heathrow but I could be wrong. I'll keep everything crossed for you as you deserve the trip and also my husband flies home next week and arrives @ 8am next Wednesday morning so I won't be happy if he gets delayed as I haven't seen him since mid January and we go on hols to Cornwall the following Saturday...and I need a holiday!!!!

Aw that's a nightmare here's hoping you all get on the trip as you worked hard to achieve it!

My May has being going quite good so far - partying with new crowds of people, so getting new interest which helps get into new areas.

My June is also building up nicely, so here's hoping they all keep :D

Working hard at trying to keep my team active as we are a brand new requalified unit, so this is my main aim for next few months and also get lots of new sponsors so I get on stage recognition at conference :j:j

I'm going to Paris in case you didn't know :rotfl:
    I get paid to party!:rotfl:

To be honest it's about getting it off the ground and keeping that momentum going , breaking out into new groups . The best we I find of doing this is to develop other ways of getting bookings like doing fairs/ stalls etc rather than solely from parties. Develop an extra service that others aren't doing ( for example we do a free pack and deliver service , which despite what other consultants say , hostess's really appreciate it , because the last thing they want to do is come home from a busy day at work and have to unpack a huge box , bag up and work out who bought what, when we deliver it's another time you will meet the hostess and another opportunity to build the relationship) . Be inventive , don't be afraid to do you own thing like offering your own hostess specials and incentives for holding a party ( try using gold envelopes with a mystery gift inside) . Never tell people you are finding it difficult to get bookings , do the opposite . Hostess's will want to book with a busy consultant . You are doing them the favour by giving them the opportunity to have a great fun evening and get lots of freebies , they arn't doing you the favour. Try offering to bring a free bottle of wine with you to get their party started , or even a 4 pack of beer for their husbands while the world cup is on ( believe it or not husbands/partners are often the reason why parties can be cancelled ).

Anyway , good luck and I hope you get some more bookings soon . Don't give up . It will work if you stick with it

Thanks Candlesrus! I have my 5 bookings in the next 3 weeks, I'm really trying to achieve fast start and then hopefully the rewards for month 1. Hopefully I will get new bookings at those parties, but I've also been checking the dates of school fairs in my area :p

When you do a stall, how do you proceed? Do you let people order from the catalogues or do you only focus on booking parties? Do you have as big a display as for parties? Do you give catalogues / business cards / free wax out? I'm looking at car boot sales too, does anyone do that? (is it even allowed?)

Don't think your allowed to do car boot sales...I'd check with head office!

I wouldn't do car boot sales as I think it would give the wrong Idea about the products ( I dont think head office would approve) Our products are high quality so prob wouldn't fit in. We usually do school fairs , wedding fairs, pamper evenings , country fairs etc . Set up a few items , the global fusion hurricane and savannah sunrise go down well . Focus is getting parties booked , orders on the day and selling a few bits like tealights . We run a prize draw questionarre which customers fill in and can win some products , On the prize draw questionarre there are also questions about being interested in the job or a party etc . Within a week or so of the event we will make a follow up call . Very often we get parties booked this way , but often it is sometime later ( sometimes several months after the event )

    Hi Candlesrus

Do you use the door prize questionnaire or have you a different one you use for the prize draw?

    thanks
