Never had to hold down the power button myself. It always came back after being switched off for a few minutes and then waiting a minute after switching back on.

Does it matter if I get one without the leads (as I already have them) and should I just get a 2nd hand one or a refurbished one?

And what about make? Does this matter, or will any make of sky digibox suffice? I'm thinking re: Sky Card and if it will go with any make of box

As long as the one you get has loose leads, some early Amstrads had a fixed mains lead, any others will be OK.

Second Hand is fine as long as it is sold as working condition.

Generally Pace are as good as any.

Your card will work in any box.;)

I am intending on buying the same make/model as the current one I think. Looking around, I could get cheaper, but only 3 or 4 quid.

It says it's refurbished and working, plus 6 months guarantee and he has 100% feedback on over 2200, just no remote or leads, so should be fine :)

Sounds good to me...go for it.

You may find that a newer model will be faster at changing channels.

    Good luck.;)

    Just bought it :)

This Panasonic is quite a fast mover anyway, instantly turns over. Been very happy with it. Hope it lasts at least until the replacement arrives and will only swap over when needed.

    It's gone again

    Same time as yesterday.

    I couldn't have accidentally set some kind of childlock/timer could I? :o

Still dead, so I guess not :o

The fact it restarted working yesterday and was working up until I went out earlier, then when I came back was dead again, was a bit of short lived luck!

Hope the new box arrives ASAP as freeview is dire :o
