  • I transferred £47000 out by CHAPS on Mon 20th Oct 10:00am and i have not recieved the money in my linked account! why have they not stopped customers making CHAPS payments? or at least posted on their website that there is still a delay with CHAPS even now. They still charge you £20. So my guess is they still have problems. They should advised customers that even now CHAPS transfers will not arrive in linked accounts as they promise.

Sorry to hear of your plight friend. Got to say though, that it's been common knowledge that they have not been functioning to anywhere near an accept level since the takeover

Good Luck & welcome to the KE/ING thread

    IMPORTANT NOTE:

    Hi folks,

    A couple of quick notes

    1. I only got one person in the emergency need situation and ING has agreed to look at trying to expedite their payment

    2. Can I remind EVERYONE do not post your details if you are personally identifiable in any way due to the risk of ID fraud

    3. While I don't want to step on anyones fun. Do remember ING Direct and possibly members of the regulators are reading this thread and we need to keep the focus on for those who haven't got their money. If someone wants to set up a Kaupthing Chaps Chat thread in the MoneySavers Arms or Discussion Time - then that'd be more appropriate (sorry to be a killjoy)

I gave instructions over 2 weeks ago to break my fixed term deposit. I was told then it would take 48 hours. I managed to get through to the call centre and was told that they have no idea when they will process these requests.
Does anyone have any better information?
The messages on the website are full of PR spin and only give a partial glimpse at the situation. It seems worse than they say.

In exactly the same position as you, but saw a difference on my broken fixed term account today, money has been transferred from Fixed Term to normal savings account, but when speaking to KE they could not give me a date of receiving it, so keep checking and keep ringing....
    Money requested 08/10, left KE 22/10 - Arrived 24/10

I agree and I put the the same question strongly to Alastair this evening. Their concern is that any such statement at a time of such uncertainty would risk generating even more transfer requests, thus slowing down the recovery of the backlog even more. Seemed like an honest answer and they maybe right, but it's of no consolation at all to you and I, particularly as I checked first by telephone due to the important reason for my transfer.

He did assure me that they were now clearing the backlog at a faster rate that they are receiving transfer requests, but I still don't think you and I will see our money till next week.
