Tesco have just emailed me to offer 3 months for the price of 1. I'm tempted but tend to spend more time outdoors in summer, so would probably never take full advantage of the offer. I don't think it's restricted to little ole me, so hope it helps someone ;)

We are currently on the free £20 Sendit voucher Screen Select free trial. Services seems to be excellent. We get a DVD every 2 days..but will cancel befoe the 6th DVD.
  • I signed up to the screenselect free trial after it was recommended by Martin. I did receive the £20 of vouchers, however when I had received my 5th DVD I returned it 4 days before the billing date but apparently they only received it on the billing day but after they had charged me! All the other discs got back to them with in a day but myteriously this one took 4!
Customer services have said they cannot do anything but have given me an address to write to. My account will also be cancelled today as I cancelled it on the website last week and so I will lose the £12.49 I have paid out. I cannot help but think that the whole thing may be a scam.
Unfortunately I did not get proof of postage but I would urge others to do so and basically to avoid this company. Any advice from others would be appreciated.

I have been on the Amazon cheapie (1 at a time 3 each month) for 3 months paying now. I use it to supplement my high street rentals. If the turnaround of 2-3 working days from my posting to getting the next one continues I will start adding more new release titles. So far they have only skipped to my second choice once, but maybe I just have bad taste:)

As an aside, I have started to use the DVD price runner sites in conjunction with ebay to get free 'DVD Rental'. I can never quite work this out, but many ebayers seem happy to pay in excess of the price asked by internet shopping sites. If you research the title on ebay first you can often find titles that will at least cost nothing to watch first and then sell on and may even provide a net profit!

I've signed up to easycinema's on line DVD rental. Its like a pay as you go service. You pay £7.96 for 4 credits which gives you 4 DVD's (£1.99 each). The rest works the same as the others, ie. you keep each DVD for as long as you like. To receive more you just top up. no need to set up a direct debit and no need to remember to cancel your contract.

i've been with lovefilm for a couple of years now, and have supplemented this with the freebie trials along the way.

trouble is, lovefilm seem to own so many of the other companies that when i go to do a free trial i can't as it recognises me as a lovefilm member.

i have been thinking about switching lately as their dvd selection from my list is awful at the moment. i'm getting nothing above #25 on my list (out of about 40) but from reading everyone else's responses it would seem i may as well stay where i am!

I've been switching between lovefilm and screenselect for absoultely ages, when I finished the very first free trials, after a few weeks they would send a new offer to tempt me back.

Currently just about to finish a lovefilm 2 4 1 month offer, screenselect offered a 3 4 1 months offer.

If you can't get any more free trials I'd say its well worth cancelling to see either what they offer you at the actual cancellantion, or within a few weeks.

Just thought I'd add to my above post - just called lovefilm to cancel as the end of my current 241 months offer is approaching, only for them to offer me buy 1 month and get 3 - so my next billing date is 6th ocotober!

    How good is that!

I am currently with lovefilm on there 3 for 1 offer and the service has been atrocious. I am lucky if I get 2 dvds out a week. I am also with screenselect on their 3 for 1 deal and their service has been much quicker.
