Yes we phoned Apple but thats all they said.............screen failure for any reason.........not getting repaired under warranty!

We bought this directly from Apple over the net, using a credit card.

Won't even repair it for you !! They will give you names of repairers!

    So completely let down!

Did you try ringing again, you have to be persistent in today's world? You might be surprised how nice the next person can be on the phone. Many a time I have hanged up when not getting anywhere with someone and redialed straight away to speak to someone else with more success.

Well, I will try again, but if that is their stated position, which I have read about on other (USA) boards, then it may not work...but persistence is good!!!!

Good luck and let us know how you get on. Rules may be different for Apple in the USA so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. ;)

    Try looking on https://www.mac-forums.com
It's mostly US-based but there are more UK consumers on there and there are some experts on there.

Oh dear - I bought one of these for my son for Christmas from Boots using my points. Just wondering where I stand if anything goes wrong - fingers crossed it won't.
  • Hi

I just bought a nano and this is what my warranty states:

"Apple Computer,Inc. ("Apple") warrants this hardware product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original purchade (Warranty period)."

This is clearly a defect. Why don't u fill out this form on their website:

    http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/

Definitely give it a try as u bought it online. Let me know how it goes.
  • Thanx guys for your support and ideas, found a few more forums re faults problems etc.

Will be following up and report back.

You should really get on to trading standards. I'm sure they are breaking the law. Trading standards can better advise you. You could also try getting a charge back from credit card company.
