Thanks for your help i will have a look on ebay at that pattern. Hopefully they will be easy to make. Ive emailed landy with regards to the material to see if they can sell me some to make the cravats with. Fingers crossed as moss bros dont seem to do a colour that matches the bridesmaid dresses.0

We are the same. We can hire ties with the Kilts but if we want fuchsia then we have to buy them so I figured that A) we could make them cheaper and
at least I know that they will be exactly the same colour as the bridesmaids.

Hi lauranurse,
Ive been speaking to Ivan about cravats, I emailed them a pic but they said they had never made them before so could they just send me the matierial. I think it was 20euros for 4meters.
My mum is going to make them for me as I cant sew to save my life :rolleyes:0 -
Hiya:
Ive been trying to google but can't work it out.
I know that you could possibly pay Customs duty and Import VAT if you buy dresses from china or the US but can anyone tell me how much the duty and VAT actually is? I cant find that anywhere!!!0 -
30% of the value of the goods in the package.
If the description on the packaging is found to be untrue i.e "dress worth €36 for present" the person buying is liable to prosecution too.0 -
geesh thats quit a lot isn't it...thanks JAyJAy - so 30% is both the customs and import tax?0
-
it is indeedy but i think landy have ways around it, i don't think other people have paid too much, and at the end of the day it still works out cheaper than in the shops. €150 would incur a €45 charge as such, so its still cheaper than in the bridal shops but i think you should budget for possible import tax charges. x0

Is this correct as the person purchasing has no control as to what details are put on the parcel,it would be imho a legal minefield to enforce.
EDIT
Just checked and you are infact correct,my apologies.0 -
yep i was unsure at first but it is most definately correct!0
