  • You mean hips as in where my rolls start? lol Does it cost anything to get measured properly?

You think I should order a size bigger or maybe add an inch to each measurement just in case it's wrong, and that way I could always get it taken in?

On the other hand, I have a year and if it comes too small then I HAVE to lose a bit of weight to get into it! lol I'm trying to lose weight now but at least that way I'll have no choice lol.

Hi i believe i was one of the first to post about Landy and so glad i did as overall she seems to be still doing great!

I got married last Oct and got my friend to measure me up (very blase in my lounge one night!!)..we emailed the sizes off and although i was nervous about poss wasting £80 odd i was fine and forgot about it until it came..the delivery man knocked with a rather small parcel and i thought 'omg what have i done!'..i opened it up with my friend one night as thought we may have a laugh together and wow..we both were stunned at how nice it was..although light in the packet it is very thick material..like silk but not as shiny..ivory..she made it tied up at the back for me as i can vary so much in sizes..it was and still is gorgeous..it is one of the few things i feel i was very very lucky with.

When we got onboard, the wedding day came, some lady collared me and asked if she could be rude and ask how much it was..i said just over £80 from Ebay and she looked shocked..prob because her dd paid about £2k for hers apparantly!!
Anyway im waffling..the dresses are fab and if i got married again (which i'm not!!) id'e buy from her..x

Hi what type is the back? if it helps my friend added what i would call 'a little bit' to each measurement where we weren't sure..hope that helps a bit!
  • It's a tie back corset type back so I can adjust it a little so will probably send the proper measurements on that bit and add a little bit onto the others?

I can't wait to order it and see what it looks like on! I've still got a few weeks before I can order so I'm looking at other dresses in the same style to make sure I've found my perfect dress and so far nothing else has come close!

would I be better off adding an inch to everything in case they make it too small? ?

    NO NO NO NO NO.

You should get someone with an unbiased opinion to measure you. Vanity measurments are the biggest cause of ill fitting garments. No body likes a tape measure, always have the need to "suck in a bit" and take off a few inches. Your tape measure HAS to be your best friend when having made to measure. The person in china is relying on the form your submit. Don't be tempted to add a bit or take away "incase" you lose weight.

I've bumped up my advice on measuring up thread. Have a read if unsure.
  • I got measured professionally and it cost me a tenner. I thought to make sure I got it right I would pay that extra bit. THE ONLY THING IS the lady told me to take off an inch as it was a corset dress on waist and hips. Big mistake. It fits, but I'd rather have the extra to then get it taken in, now I am having nightmares of it not fitting properly as its too small.

    EEEK lol xxx
