    Perfectbe, sorry to hear abou your bad dress - is it just the colour and underskirt that went wrong? The reson I say "only" is that reading through this thread you may well have been better prepared as to what to expect...You need to post more times to be able to post links and pictures

    Hi honeymoon, good luck for your wedding in June - no one can answer your question - only you can deide whether landy is right for you. If you are still thinking about it please red through the whole thread, you'l find pics of dresses common pitfalls etc, however you write

    " I have a look their finish products and wasnt that impress." So i would say you hve answred your own question - Landy probably isn't for you

  • Hi Svjenni! I have already received my wedding dress, but am about to order BM dresses in the next couple of days. Have you decided what you are going for?

    xxxx
  • Hi Svenni, No it was not just the underskirt and colour ..it was the the whole dress and the finishing was very poor...I didnt knw wht to expect tho..but i guess i learn t from my experience. I used a good company in the end to have my dress sketched and custom made and i loved it when i saw it.. @ honeymoon...if u are not convinced then i advice not to go ahead..just like u said u have seen the finished product and u didnt like it. i can give u the contact for the lady i used if u would want it..and also show u my dress which she made for me

  • Another newbie to this thread who's just wasted far too long reading...

    Am getting married in August (if we can get a venue sorted...but that's another thread entirely) and am considering getting my dress from here. Wasn't going to do the traditional dress thing as they are so expensive and i'm not a girly girl dreaming of a white wedding... But they seem so reasonable it looks like a good idea. The thing is...there are too many to choose from! Anyone got any advice?!

    if you never had any idea of what type of dress you want - stick with what suits you - this depends on your body shape.
    You will probably do well going to a dress shop and trying a few on, I went to oxfam bridal and tried on some dresses and straight away knew what shape looks best.

    After shape think about style - does your wedding have a theme eg vintage/ 50's - can you dress match the style

    Colour scheme - do you want colour in your dress? - you could have an accent or perhaps a coloured dress.

    after that its a big trawl through the internet and see what you like the look of

  • Hi everyone. I'm definitely ordering the dress I want from landybridal now, and just need some advice.

    They've sent me a list of measurements I need to do:

    Full Bust = inches
    Waist = inches
    Hips = inches
    upper bust= inches
    under bust= inches
    Nipple to Nipple = inches
    Shoulder to Shoulder = inches
    Length shoulder to bust =inches
    Front Length Shoulder to Waist = inches
    Outer Leg = (from waist to floor with your shoes on) inches
    Length from your waist to knees= inches
    Dress Color=

    Now if I took exact measurements of everything, will that be a perfect fit, or would I be better off adding an inch to everything in case they make it too small? At least if it's too big I can get it taken in, but if they are very accurate with the measurements it would obviously be better as it'll be a perfect fit straight away.

    Anyone who has had a custom dress, did it come in exactly the right size?

    Also, confused where the waist line is. One bridal shop told me it was the bit just above your hips (belly) and another told me it was the smallest part of your waist (so in my case not that far under my bust). Are there any pictures on the site where I'm supposed to take my measurements?

    I'm so excited I'll be ordering and it would be perfect if the dress fits perfectly without needing altering, but I'd rather be on the safe side and order bigger if people have had dresses come in the wrong size.

    What would you do?

    Ok, firstly you should get a professional to measure you if possible

    I didn't - the waist is higher than you think.

    Get someone else to measure you - even if you are "large" (i am!) there wil be a place where your waise naturally comes in - it is easier to see it stanading slightly to the side - i found if i put my hands on my "hips" that was where it was

    Obviously not your real hips as this is down near your bum! but perhaps you get what i mean:confused:
