I went to the cab and the woman filling in the form was a volunteer not even one who had a clue on the dla form
my doc has basically told me to just get on with life
i need a new referal and at the moment i am seeing a nutritionalist as lookin after my diet to cut out sugar as this seems to be a trigger which seems to be helping me not suffer as many seizures as i am used to
My oh who is my carer is the one who is speaking to them as i am unable to as i start to slur my words or i end up having a seizure which means i then loose the phone call
thanks for your help mo0 -

Hi Nikola
I have to say that if I were you I would change my GP. Whilst you don't expect your doctor to perform miracles (although wouldn't it be wonderful if he/she could:)? ) I think that 'get on with your life' attitude stinks. I've had close hand experience of similar and it achieves nothing except for total demoralisation. We know we have to get on with life but some of us need ungrudging help and support to do that.
It's good about the nutritionalist although this should have been addressed long before now. Good luck with the referral, you shouldn't be made to wait ages either.

Claiming disability has been a struggle for me but after battling it out I am getting it and in 6 months time I will be claiming pension credit anyways. But for anyone who feels that they deserve it, fight for it.0

It's in addition to your Income Support.I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0

Some people fail to recognise epilepsy, people who have epilepsy that is not totally controlled and have fits still are not able to drive, a big disability in itself. Obviously the council now supply bus passes and you can purchase a rail card, but no benefits are there. Some people including myself have problems working full time as it is tiredness and stress that affects people/0

I assume you're having an assessment for ESA?
They will do one of three things: declare you fit for work, or put you on either 'work-focussed group' ESA or 'support group' ESA.
If you're declared fit for work, you can appeal.
If you're put in the work-focussed group, you will have one year of benefit being paid in which to find work, helped by them. At the end of the year, your benefit stops. You can appeal this one, too, if you feel you are not fit for any kind of work and won't be within the year.
If you're put in the support group, you have been considered unfit for work and will not be expected to search for a job but will receive benefits until such time as you are reassessed (if at that time you are put in a different group).I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0 -

The benefit does not stop after a year, those on CB ESA are transferred to IB ESA and they will not receive any payment if their household income/ capital is above the prescribed limits. Nonetheless you would still be on ESA (and subject to continued assessments), just not receiving any payments.0 -

Sorry, I meant benefits given purely for disability purposes, not income ones.I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.0
