It's not you - it *is* faddy f, sorry I mean Daffy Duck or some half hearted equivalent!
Anyone going tomorrow? I just can't wait to see the results of what will obviously be a very very busy night for all the staff. :rotfl:0 -

it states 'Images used on this website are for illustration purposes only and may not represent the real event'
interesting,so what does it look like actually.
hi gomer,hows things pal.
Perhaps the organisers of that event are attempting to duplicate disclaimer text from the Lapland New Forest website -- a website that was carefully constructed so as to lure people in by deceit.
As usual, this scam, like many another, depended upon potential victims not reading the small print. And, of course, the website has conveniently vanished.
Or the author(s) think it has. However. . .
Here's the link to the Google cache:
http://216.239.59.132/search?q=cachet3y6AVyK_4J:laplandnewforest.co.uk/shop/index.php%3Fmain_page%3Dconditions+Lapland+New+Forest&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=uk
If you save it, and then read down to the "disclaimers", it will be seen that the Lapland New Forest scam is based on the contention that you can get away with anything, providing you disclaim it.
So the Lapland New Forest website deliberately incorporates, for the purposes of illegal gain, images and text which those responsible knew to be dishonest and misleading -- so dishonest, and so misleading in fact, that they then wrote the small print "disclaimer" saying -- in effect -- "nothing you see on our website should be taken as a true and accurate representation of what you're paying for".
Clearly, the disclaimer text is there so that in the event of some people complaining, the organisers could write back and cite the web page text -- oh dear, we're very sorry, folks, but we did say on our website that nothing on there was to be trusted, so really, it's all your fault. . .
What the organisers seem not to have counted upon was that Lapland New Forest wouldn't get just a few complaints, but hundreds of 'em.
Yet even then: as a defence to a criminal prosecution, the disclaimer text is as ludicrous as the website assurances of a "Nativity Scene" and "bustling Christmas Market" and images of snow covered log cabins that turned out to be cheap sheds.
Unless the local police, backed by the local Trading Standards office, are spectacularly inept, then the people behind this cynical money-grabbing exercise are destined to face m'lud very soon.
What began as a test of consumer will -- all scammers take the gamble that so few people will complain, they can get away with it -- now becomes a test of UK Law and UK consumer protection.
One hopes the authorities down there in Dorset are up to the (easy) task. . .
It's also to be hoped that ANY consumer who in future thinks about forking out a load of money for a product or service as described on a hitherto unknown website FIRST checks the small print for that website.
Caveat emptor -- even in Lapland.0 -

Just in case they would like to keep some funds in the Paypal account, in case of refunds etc. Unfortunately Rudolph did not give them his proper email address and so I am awaiting any replies, if any.

~Chameleon~ wrote: »The people running the Lapland West Midlands scam are the same people that operated the scam driveway company One Stop Concrete Supplies Ltd.
This company wasn't even registered with Companies House therefore was an illegal entity which immediately rings alarm bells!
The people behind this scam are Anna and Chris Daley (aka Daily) and registered address of both websites is ...
25 Bee Lane
Fordhouses
Wolverhampton
West Midlands
WV10 6LE
Tel: 01902 399965
The telephone number is even the same one advertised on the Lapland website for booking tickets!
I've not yet found a link between these people and the Mears. It could well be that they are totally unconnected and having seen how much money the Mears have made thougt they would chance their luck on a similar scam, who knows!
An alleged assault on a local newspaper journalist on a visit to the Daley's home address has been reported to the police.
At the rate these Lapland scams are going, it's getting near to ho-ho-homicide time.
Whatever happened to the Christmas spirit, Messrs Daley and Mears???;)
* PS: is the West Midlands "park" opeining tomorrow or not? Anyone know?0 -
Anyone going tomorrow? I just can't wait to see the results of what will obviously be a very very busy night for all the staff. :rotfl:
I am very tempted to go and take some piccies to show everyone, about an hour or so from me, via sleigh and I would be disguised as a normal person obviously.0 -
Ooh - The website is back up again.0

I have just read the following on the Suns Website:
The business that runs the grotto is registered at Unit 1, Wild Park House in Brighton’s Home Farm Road BN1 9HT its attractive address it is actually a converted police box and public toilet.
If this is true alot of recorded delivery letters are going to be arriving to an old toilet!! sums the whole thing up really!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL IN GETTING MONEY BACK....AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE USEFULL INFORMATION POSTED.
ONE LAST THING OUR CREDIT CARD WAS ALSO ON THE LIST FOR UNUSUAL USAGE AND YES LAST TRANSACTION WAS FOR TICKETS FOR LAPLAND NEW FOREST:mad:0 -

I think we should feel sorry for the poor ticket touts who probably bulk-bought tickets expecting this to be very popular and were planning to sell them at inflated prices on Ebay:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
