Just a bit of information for those who need to claim, I am one of those who has been fleeced! £150 paid by Lloyds visa debit, have phoned their disputed transactions number 0845 300 6699 and they ahve advised me to print ans send a copy of the website stating its now closed with a covering letter explaining what has happened and date money left our account and date we were due to go to Lapland New Forest. They will set teh ball rolling to claim money back through Visa Chargeback. The address for Loyds Visa debit cards is Card Services, 9th Floor, Essex House, Southchurch Avenue, Southend on Sea, SS1 2LB.
Hope this helps someone!

I don't know about Gomer, though. I just detect a whiff of the demagogue about the dude and I just think he's to be resisted, and leaving the petty stuff aside, there is a valid issue about how we use these forums, and whether the loudest mouths are always the ones we should allow to dictate the terms.
Even though the Lapland park was a clear cut scam, it's not absolutely all black and white as I'm sure that some involved in the park were in good faith (it seems the huskies fall into this category and they were not malnourished after all), and not everyone who dares to disagree with Gomer is automatically Victor Mears in disguise.
There I go again ! I'll probably get told off !
These forums are such a valuable tool that we should all take care. It's that which really matters, and, as somebody who is sometimes wrong, it is tricky to know how to challenge those who are always right in the right way.

I will make no comment regarding Gomer's attitude, as that is to some extent in the eye of the beholder.
I would say though, that in this Lapland debacle there are many victims who may be less able to take action than those involved in other consumer issues, consideration of the demographic suggest this to me, but again this is merely my opinion, however having considered posting on a number of other fora I feel my judgment is borne out. If this is true then action taken by others who are possibly better equipped and more experienced in these matters is, I feel, appropriate.
I also agree with your comments regarding things not being black and white. No-one should act as judge and jury for matters that are yet to be investigated. Some assumptions can be relatively safely made *now* though, one, the Huskies do not seem to have been at particular risk, unfortunately this discussion was a bit of a distraction. Further, I think the evidence that this event was not as described is overwhelming and again this has been borne out by recent events.
I think it was unfair for someone to accuse you of being Victor Mears without any evidence, although I don't believe the majority of readers of this forum would have taken that comment seriously.
You are correct that this forum is valuable, and I can speak as someone who has been involved in the Internet for over 25 years (much longer than the WWW has been around) and I have seen many examples of abuse. One comment worth bearing in mind (for all) was made by Jon Postel, one of the founding fathers of the Internet way back in 1980:
"Be liberal in what you accept, and conservative in what you send."
Not a bad maxim in my mind.
Let's turn to that other potential Scam in the West Midlands.

For those who aren't also following the Facebook groups - this has been put on by someone who has been offering loads of great advise... I hope it's not true but I hate to say I was worried about it after visiting last Sat:
"WARNING - Credit /Debit card cloning
There are a few reports about card-cloning coming in from people who have bought tickets from Lapland and not used their cards since. They're now showing other debits that have nothing to do with the card holder.
Suggest that you immediately check your statements (online or call the card company) and ask for a list of your recent transactions.
If you notice anything suspicious IMMEDIATELY let the card company know, and also report the matter to Dorset Police who, as I understand it, may also now be involved in this investigation."

Thank you for this post and it would be helpful if anyone else has the details of their particular bank or credit card department and/or phone number to call regarding a refund of any monies paid. This, after all, is what is important now.0 -
I have 'phoned Sainsbury's Credit Card this morning and they have said I need to firstly write to Lapland New Forest and ask for my money back. Address is: Unit 1, Wild Park House, Home Farm Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 9HD.
If attempt to obtain refund is unsuccessful (!), then forward all correspondance to their Disputes Team at the address on credit card statement and they will look at it.
No promises though......0 -
Gorginoo, can you edit your post as Lapland UK have nothing to do with the Lapland New Forest and we don't want complaints from them!
http://www.laplanduk.co.uk/
If your card/bank do ask you do write asking for your money back, please say in the letter that you give them 7 days from receipt of your letter to process a refund and that if they don't respond within this time limit that you will be taking your complaint to XXX bank/credit card company.0 -

I was going to reply to ineedmoremoney's query but I have just discovered the registration details for lapland New Forest have changed for the second time in three days, they are now:
From Nominet:
Domain name:
laplandnewforest.co.uk
Registrant:
Lap Land
Registrant type:
UK Individual
Registrant's address:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.

Renewal date: 04-Dec-2010
Registration status:

They *were* (from another source, Who.is, luckily, as of a few minutes ago the change had not propagated so must be *very* recent):
Domain name:

WHOIS lookup made at 09:57:04 05-Dec-2008
So to answer ineedmoremoney's question the domain name has been
in existence since August. A domain name however, is completely
separate from any web site that might appear 'under' it, so a
registered domain does indicate the existence of a working web site.
The summation is that the previous registrant has probably dropped this like a hot potato but *someone* wants to keep
the domain name.
Always willing to investigate Internet scams.

In the middle of last night an addition had been made to the one remaining web page which purported to have been added by the website builder and appeared to be an invitation for people to use his services for other work.
Quite bizarre, but may possibly suggest that the website is not entirely under the control of Lapland New Forest Ltd and indicate why it keeps disappearing and reappearing.
It's still there

Work Wanted: Errrr ... don't snarl ... smile ... the designer of this highly successful marketing campaign is looking for the next project ... maybe something less headline.
Does anyone require an effective marketing campaign: websites / artwork / seo etc with guru conversion %?
PLEASE don't contact me about your refunds or complaints ... it has nothing to do with me and is not my decision ... I'm just working my butt off day & night through the craziness and so sad misery to provide every one of you with accurate information and a clear communication means for the sheer love and honour of it.
If you wish to communicate - only nice genuine relevant emails get past my junk filter Thank you.
BE Happy.
