Lapland New Forest Scam. How to get money back...

• I just think that you've somewhat hijacked a forum which is really to empower the actual people ripped off by the ghastly Mears, and subordinated it to your hobby of acting the role of a 'good guy' against the wicked scammers.

I'm sure your practical help would have been equally appreciated it if you had offered it in a less overbearing manner, and this would have the added benefit of not reducing some of the forum members to being merely your foot-soldiers or cheerleaders, but rather giving them the satisfaction of involvement in getting their money back and seeing the Mears creature squirm.

It's quite frankly risible to suggest, as the falsely modest tone of a couple of your postings suggest, that you personally, as opposed to the many agencies and individuals involved, had any influence whatsoever in closing the silly park down today. You're deluded if you think that, you're mad as a box of frogs, and I could leave you to your fantasy, except the fact that you are superficially convincing, I'll give you that, and you're treating real people, and real problems flippantly so you can create a drama with you at its centre.

You're Victor Mears and I claim my £5. :rotfl:

they say they nothing to do with new forest lapland

Of course they say that (I believe after someone on this thread said it was strange that they hadn't).

Now, I would like to see photos on their website of Mark Lucas, who is the organiser according to the BBC report earlier in the thread. And his credentials. What has made the oganiser organise a similar venture to the flop that was in Dorset? It's hardly a role model.

• In case you hadn't heard the news Lapland New Forest has closed. Those of you with outstanding tickets should now be able to get your money back if you paid by credit card. Tesco Finance have dedicated a whole department to dealing with Lapland New Forest claims.

Also worth a look is this website http://www.laplanduk.co.uk/ which seems to be the real deal, and which is now fighting to shake off the association.

They fight dirty. Fake reviews on tripadvisor, fake reviews on mumsnet. (And not just recently, last year too.)

I've never been, and am not associated with it, but judging by the independent video reviews, and the fact that it's being repeated for a second year, it might well be worth considering for anyone who liked the idea of this sort of day out and has been let down. It would be nice if they would do something similar to alton towers and offer half price tickets to New Forest Lapland victims, or something like that. I have emailed them to suggest this, but I doubt they'll listen!

I think Lapland UK is ok, but it's £85!!!! Last year it cost £25. Rip-off.
• Hi all --

First I would like to say that it has been a TERRIBLE thing for such a scam to be conducted to so many lovely people over Christmas. Money is tight for myself and fiance so I relate. I have seen the news, and I have seen the online forums and I have kept quiet until now as I feel a real disservice is being done to the Husky Owners, who are close personal and long-time friends. They have excellent dogs and love them to bits and have made several costly trips to the U.S. to even buy their special and well-loved Huskies.

I am a web site and graphics designer, and photographer in my spare time and I was invited to do some work (make posters of the Huskies) and take some pictures (which I was going to provide freely to add to Christmas joy) down at this Lapland event - but when the Husky Owners arrived it was very apparent they were not pleased, but had made an agreement with the Event Coordinators to stay for the time being until things settled. I know them very well and they adore their Huskies - and although they were not in the conditions they normally are they WERE taken out for walks and are currently supposed to be training for the Iditarod so this is why they are at their leanest weight. I know they were being fed 3 times a day, and their water bowls were over-turned due to them walking in circles because they are dogs, that get bored. In fact, a few of the dogs are a little overweight for training according to the vet!!

I think the situation is ABSOLUTELY horrid, and so did the owners, and I really am sad to see this becoming a lynch-mob against them. I wanted to support Lisa as it seems you are all attacking her without knowing the people or the animals, just seeing them chained up (not in anyway to hurt them!!) and miserable because they are normally home - with their lovely big fields and running laps not having music blared and huge crowds...

Well, instead the owners went down there, of their own accord, to bring Christmas cheer to your kids, yet have been receiving HUGE backlash when they LOVE their dogs tremendously.... They did not know the facilities that would be provided would be so ghastly, and they tried to make the best of it to keep the Huskies there for you and your families to enjoy... and this is the response, just trying to get them taken away because the whole hysteria of the event!!

Please, for a moment, think that these are well-loved, well-treated, and very pricey and lavish Huskies that the owners would not have gone to the U.S. and other countries to collect and bought equipment etc, to have you all call them half-breeds and malnourished. I would put their website up here, but I know you will all just attack them, you won't listen to reason or believe anything anyone says that could be nice about people - the owners were JUST AS MUCH the victims as all of you, except now they have to suffer your attacks on their love of animals and character.

At the end of the day, you will believe what you want - if you want to attack someone send me an email to : winterkin@gmail.com - I know I have never posted here before but I never had the need. Yes, you may think you thought they were terribly treated, but did you go? Did you talk to the owner who was THERE the entire time and stood at the front? Or their assistant who also works with the Huskies?? In fact, I know that whilst the RSPCA was there speaking to them - a call was made to them to state there was a DEAD Husky in a wheelbarrow on site... just total vicious horrible lies. Before you pick up the phone, to make a complaint, remember maybe some people were just trying to provide something nice to this event and have gotten shot full of holes for it.

Have a little Christmas Spirit, as hard as that may be. Not everyone is the embodiment of neglect and evil!!!!!!!!!!
• i like it how they now got the name for the page. The Now Famous lapland theme park or has that been there all the time

Winterkin,

Are the same husky owners supplying the dogs for Lapland West Midlands?
