  • Hi

They have interviewed somebody from trading standards tonight on BBC1 SOUTH TODAY about Lapland New Forest. What a waste of time!!!!!!!! We've got 4 tickets booked for Sunday. Maybe Johnathon Ross should give them a call then the Prime Minister would show some interest

I have just read the article and it says dozens of complaints...come on all of you that have been and are unhappy we need to make that hundreds or thousands!
I don't know if I can contact them as I have not been yet, but happy to try.
    Good luck
  • Trading Standards issued a press release (before they attended the site I think) making it clear that they didn't have the power to shut the place down:

  • Hi all,

Just to let you know that Ocean FM have also been following this story as well which is good. Please give your feedback at:

Apparently the latest is that organisers have agreed to improve the site (!!). Trading Standards have now had over 2,000 calls about it.

I really hope all the people affected get their money back, but it looks as though you'll have a struggle. Absolutely terrible to do this to families who've spent a lot of money on tickets and particularly children who are left so disappointed.
  • My wife paid two hundred and sixty pounds for our tickets, equivalent to two weeks of her hard earned cash. She paid with a Building Society cheque, which means that we have little hope of getting any money back. I now understand that we have to visit the site to be able to complain about it, which is something we are now reluctant to do...................... unless of course there is a website that can tell us if things have improved since it opened last week. I don't want to see posts from one person as we have on here; but posts from many people saying that it now looks a hundred times better than it was in the pictures.
If anyone actually enjoyed it, then surely they would want others to go there expecting and getting more than those of you on this forum did. Those who have suffered the effects of their visit can't be the only ones with an opinion.
It would be nice to read about up to date reports about the site and hear if improvements have actually been made, before we spend five hours driving there and back. I'm not a nice person when I'm cheated out of money, so if we do go, then there had better be something on offer along the lines of what we were promised.
What really annoys me at the moment is the way Lapland New Forest seems to have used the name Lapland to mislead people into expecting something along the lines of Lapland UK, which seems to be well established with a good reputation. No doubt Lapland UK's success has been the motivation for the organizers of this fiasco to copy the idea, seeing it as an easy way to earn a lot of money in a very short space of time, without having the knowledge or experience to carry it off.
Something else that really annoyed me today; was the smug turd on Jeremy Vines show on Radio 2; who said that there couldn't be a recession if people could spend that sort of money on entertaining their children. No doubt a lot of people who are going are like myself and my wife. We have very little spare money and wanted our grandchildren to experience something special, and we have better things to do with our money than waste it in this way. I would imagine the organizers were only too aware of how many people would help finance their greedy, get rich quick
scheme, bearing in mind that we all want our children to have all the good things in life.

    Hiya x

Mmm Its interesting about the trading standard stuff - I think thats what she said but she may of said somebody else was going to announce it was too be closed.

Good Luck everyone x I am interested to know how people get on with refunds.

In the echo it also says that the RSPCA are also involved in inspecting how well the animals are being cared for.

  • Hi

As we have been informed by Trading Standards we need to visit Lapland New Forest, then complain(if not happy) to try and get our money back.

Can somebody who's been please let me know how the tickets are collected, as I do not really want to travel 3hrs for a load of rubbish. I hoping the attraction improves or has been shut down before Sunday but im not holding my breath
