Site fast connection - threads really s l o w....

Well it's a new day but the problem is still here page loading take's ages still.
once page is cached in borwser i can get back to the page and post IE: like this one..

Thanks guys, it's all interesting and useful information. The request for a main site page load time was directed at clio specifically as they are on dial up and it helps me establish a ratio of speed for the different sub domains (www vs forums). Dalkirst, are you on dial-up as well?

Godders, wouold you say that there has been a general improvement since we made the change?

It has been much faster today for me. I'm on Virgin BB 3mbps with a Speedtouch thingy for the last year, and today I'm accessing the site as fast as I was when I was on dialup.
So pleased MSE Towers put another shilling in the gas! Or a 50p piece under the wonky leg on the server!

I use firefox on boradband with AOL - still seems the same speeds for me

i am on dial up (3 mobile dongle with vista) and its still really slow, up to 20 mins to load. i was up till 3am and it was no faster then. hope this helps

The responsiveness of the forums is certainly better than it was, or it appears to be so at the moment.

At present this is what I get.



Next time the forums is on a major slow down for me I will test again.

But I can tell you now that when MSE is slow my connection to anywhere else seems to be the same as normal.

How did you take the picture to show your fermi?

Mines 1253 kb/s Download and 369 kb/s Upload. I'm with zen.co.uk. Its only on the mse site I have a slower connection.
