Thanks guys, it's all interesting and useful information. The request for a main site page load time was directed at clio specifically as they are on dial up and it helps me establish a ratio of speed for the different sub domains (www vs forums). Dalkirst, are you on dial-up as well?
Godders, wouold you say that there has been a general improvement since we made the change?
Soolin, how was last night's speed?

It has been much faster today for me. I'm on Virgin BB 3mbps with a Speedtouch thingy for the last year, and today I'm accessing the site as fast as I was when I was on dialup.

The responsiveness of the forums is certainly better than it was, or it appears to be so at the moment.
At present this is what I get.
Next time the forums is on a major slow down for me I will test again.
But I can tell you now that when MSE is slow my connection to anywhere else seems to be the same as normal.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
