    My 2 will be getting:

DS1 - DS + games ( got loads of games cheap when Morrisons were doing them for £12 each! ) - Star wars voice changer helmet - Ben 10 scooter - Doctor who board game - Simpsons electronic bowling alley game - plus loads of other stocking fillers and smaller gifts

DS2 - DS + games ( again lots of games cheap from Morrisons! ) - Star wars build your own lightsaber - Dalek voice changer helmet - Disney Cars transforming mack playset - Doctor who dress up kit ( really cute doctor outfit even includes doctor style hair wig lol ) - plus loads of other stocking fillers and smaller gifts

Also for the other child in the house (my partner lol) he will be getting an Xbox 360 and star wars lego! He's such a big kid! :D

Sorry to butt in ... if you get your OH lego star wars then get the complete saga rather than the origional trilogy as it is a longer game ;) We have both ... and indiana jones and also lego batman lol ... not that OH is a child or anything

DS1 (5.5) and DS2 (coming up 4) are getting identical presents - trust me its so much easier! They're both getting a DS and a couple of games from FC plus a stocking. WE've then got them a Dr Who sweatshirt, Dr Who pjs, DR Who DVD, Dr Who figure, a board game and a puzzle each (spot the theme here??!!).

DD (almost 11 months by Christmas!) is getting a rag doll and a Ninky Nonk from FC plus a stocking. We've got her a M&P rocking cow (bought it cheap in Jan sales form Argos - before she was even born lol!!) and a silver bracelet.

They're also getting small pressies from each other - boys are each getting a Dr Who sonic screwdriver torch, Dr Who figure and a talking Dr Who keyring DD is getting some of the small ITNG beanies and a ITNG board book.
    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....
  • DS is 17 so more difficult to buy for I think.I have a good idea of what he likes but have asked him for a list of fav web sites I should visit to buy things for him.

a 17 year old boy's favourite websites contain things a mother wont want to be buying ;)

Sorry didn't word that right, I meant Star wars lego as in the toy / building blocks lol He wants the Federation TT (something like that) ship :D

He already has Star wars lego the game on the wii, which he loves playing too!
  • I really dont like to say no,especially at christmas. My son was told 2 months ago I had a tight budget this year and asked him to think about what he would like to the value of about £200,I plan on spending about £300 on him in total. He eventually came back to me yesterday saying he cant think of anything he would like other than a ps3 and he knows its overbudget but can he half in for it.I dont like the idea of him paying for half of a christmas present himself so I am a bit unsure of what to do.
He says he isnt really into christmas(typical teenager?) and doesnt mind waiting till after the 25th if I think a ps3 would be cheaper then.I actually dont think the price of these are coming down soon. What should I tell him?Should I tell him to save up for it himself or let him pay half, maybe give him the £150 for half of the cost with some smaller pressies?
I do want to give him what he wants but £300 for one item is just ridiculous, isn't it?
I just cant help thinking of how much work I would have to do to pay for that one item.

Blimey - you lot are so organised!!!

I'm not even properly prepared for DS's 3rd birthday in a week and a bit. He hasn't even started thinking about Xmas yet, as it's his birthday first. Everything he sees on the TV he says "Can I have that for my birthday?". He's so cute.

DD wants a new mobile for Xmas though, I know that. But I've not got anywhere near buying one!

Got to say on this thread how much stuff is actually going to get played with?

I dont have much space with 4 children. All that clutter!
I hope people are paying cash not cards.
I love treating my kids but think twice about anything that is bought now.
This for me is the first year we are not going to have a materialistic xmas.I'm going for the feel good factor.I want my children to feel loved and lucky not surrounded by unopened boxes.
Still to shop for my boys as they all have birthdays pre xmas.We tend to do things for birthdays. But my daughters presents Ive bought on a shoe string. She is 14

Pretty cami and knickers sleep set from new look £4 (was £12)
Kitten slippers reduced from stationary shop £1.50 ( were £8)
    Ditto Kitten mug £1 kitten pens 2 x £1 (were £5 apiece)
Lots of teenage angst type books that were on buy 1 get 1 half price combined with £5 off £10 spend so around 8 books for £15!
    Kitten bag £1.50 was £15!
New avon perfume, cosmetic bag and toiletries for £12 new off ebay..perfume is £20 in book!
Big box of half price thornton chocs (date checked)£8 but pure luxury instead of selection box.
Half price baby G watch from argos at £25
Finally hoping to buy her something new and glam to wear on xmas day or will give her some money for sales around £25

I think under £100 for a teenager is good going for that number of pressies these days. The slippers, pens, bag and mug I bought in August!

So far we have got concert tickets for the kids,A book and some Horrible sceince packs that was £2.50 instead of £5 each. They have more then enough toys, phone, mp3 etc our kids are 10,11,13

We have been looking into trip out more than material things, but our are older, Zorbing is one we have looked at.Pricey for what it is but something they will remember for life!

I did tell them this year we was going to a themed xmas, 1920's lol That didnt go down to well.
  • I have asked my dd aged 2.5 what she wants from FC and all she asks for is playdoh £10 a bucket
Most expensive thing we've bought is Elmo live but had a discount code for littlewoods for money off, fifi magic garden reduced to £12.50 and i have only bought pressies for her if they have money off that way saving alot.
Spent £400 on dd and all family members and im all done

She did also have a go of her cousins Nintendo DS then kept asking for one but i still think she is a bit little for that (will be 3 in April)

Tesco have got alot of toys half price at the mo...worth a look

Stocking fillers have come from Home bargains, wilkos and pound shop

Also got new xmas pj's, xmas dvd, xmas crafts for xmas eve

DS1 (9) has asked for a personal DVD player - I'm off to buy that tomorrow. Also got him a roboraptor cos I found it for £40. Other stuff is Wii/Ds games/DVD's and smaller bits

DS2 (3) Has a Ozbozz scooter, Leapfrog rading pen/books and Thomas wooden rail set items as well as smaller games/toys

DD (1) Has the fisher price palace, aeroplane and car (all in pink lol) as well as the usual girly things - baby dolls etc. only thing I still need to get her is a gold bangle which will be around £40 or so.
