What toys are you going to buy your children this Christmas?

Hi,

I just wondered what everyone was going to be buying their children this year.

My son wants an Elmo Live toy which I've already got after preordering it from Amazon. I must admit, it does look pretty cute, but I'll resist the temptation of getting it out of its box :rotfl:

My daughter's fallen in love with Fur Real Biscuit - http://www.furrealbiscuitmylovinpup.com - a toy made by Hasbro which is a lifesize Golden Retriever and looks pretty lifelike! I decided to buy one early,
because I read somewhere that they were only releasing limited stock and I managed to get a good price.

Obviously the Fur Real Biscuit's a bit more expensive than the Elmo Live, but my son's also expressed as interest so no doubt they will end up sharing. Closer to the time I'll probably throw a few more stocking fillers his way anyway!

Now hopefully they won't change thier minds before Christmas! :rotfl:

So what about you? :)

Indiana Jones Lego is what my eldest wants (9) and the baby (6) doesnt know what he wants. I said he can have anything in the world, he replied, yey i want a chocolate biscuit! I have a feeling he may be a little disappointed with just this at christmas.
One day, i will be a genius.
One day, they will perfect brain transplantation.
  • My daughter (8) wants an MP3 player,a magazine subscription, DS games, a Gupi (robotic guinea pig) and Twister. She has got all these and a few stocking fillers.
My son (4) wants anything he sees on the adverts on Tv - we have bought him his own DS to stop all the arguments, some board games which he LOVES, lots of books and a big Hot Wheels track thing which he's wanted for ages.
They've been quite easy this year!

my son (4) wants a mega mack car truck which is abotu £40 - just my luck it seems to be in/on special offer the weeks i don thave any money!! grrr...........

ad he also wants a megazord but he has been nagging me for one of those since May so i will definately be getting him that as his main gift as I suspect if he opens that first he wont play with anythign else all day.

Apart from that he has only asked for play doh, lego, ben 10 figures, transformers and some DVDs but i dare say ill end up spending about £200 on him even though the gifts hes chosen above are abotu £40 each!

DD1 wants an ipod nano, which I some how managed to win :D but I only just found out the other day that the ear phones come separately  so I've got to get them yet and the voucher thing.

DD2 wants a Nintendo DS, some light thingys for her bike spokes and some in line skates.

Obviously I'll get them some other silly bits but no actual "toys" have been asked for

If I was little I'd so want this http://www.elc.co.uk/toy/dream-town-rose-petal-cottage/
I saw an advert on the telly for it earlier.

How old is he if you don't mind me asking? I would say that a very good choice of headphones would be something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/203-5062752-5895113?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sennheiser+cx300&x=0&y=0

They block out any outside noise and they're also really hard wearing.

  • I asked my 5yo what he wanted for Xmas and he couldn't think of anything! He doesn't really get the idea of brands or 'must-have' toys yet - I'm sure that will all change bfore long though! I can't imagine him asking for a Wii or anything like that- a 4 yo freind of his has one, but when my DS comes back from playing at this boy's house he complains that 'Cxxx just has computer games - he doesn't have any proper toys!' Anyone got any ideas what I should get him for xmas?!!!

I tried giving him a toy catalogue to choose something from, but he just picked some Hot Wheels toy almost at random - he didn't really want it, it was on the first page he opened the catalogue on. I tried to get him to look through it properly, so he flicked a couple of pages then chose some really rubbish car race track for toddlers! I explained it was for younger kids, and anyway he already has a scalextric-type race track thing which is much better. He enjoyed looking at the toys but he had no idea what he wanted, he wasn't that bothered about any of them. I suppose I should be grateful that he is not demanding big expensive toys!! :rotfl:

Hi Sammy are you near Port Talbot works?
I got mine from Sainsburys in Bridgend because I only live down the road. I was on a waiting list though but true to their word they phoned me and said they had kept one for me. I was really chuffed with that. Last I heard though they had stopped the waiting list but it might be worth a try ;)
