Hello Everyone,
Hugs to all those in need, and those who want one!
Am sat here feeling very sorry for myself! it's a combination of too much wine last night, a late night and a cold. I just can't seem to get warm at the moment but refuse to put heating on so have my little halogen heater on, the front room is very cosy but the rest of the house is cold.
OS wise, 3 loads of washing are blowing on the line (it can stay there til tomorrow as I am not braving that biting wind).:rotfl:
I have batch cooked 2 portions of spag bol, 1 portion of chilli and made a lasagne (half for dinner, half for freezer).
We were supposed to be out at a party this afternoon but I just don't feel up to it, its a good job I made the lasagne! Must change my meal plan as we weren't supposed to be having it until Wed so need to find something for then - any ideas??
Was up early to watch the Qualifiers and was at Mr T by 10am - totally unheard of for me, so I treated DS & I to Burger K**g for an early lunch, completely forgetting we had Fish and Chips for dinner last night and I have put chips in the Remoska for dinner tonight - that must be a months worth of chips in 2 days
Anyway best go and nuke the lasagne and peas to go with the chips!
Have a good evening all, keep warm

Not much in the way of OS here so far but have high hopes for the rest of the day.
I have just been to look round my new house (don't move in for another 4 weeks though) and I am really excited about it. I have measure the kids room's windows ready for some curtains and I plan to make these myself:eek:
How do I know what size curtains I need though? DD's window is 120cm x 114cm.
General rule for curtains is to make each curtain the same width as your window - therefore a pair of curtains will be twice the width of the window and when the header tapes are pulled you'll get a decent gather (obviously if you want them really gathered at the top then make them wider) The length all depends on how far down you want them taking into account any radiators in the way etc....

Afternoon all,
I refuse to move from here and with my considerable weight nobody is likely to try to make me move! Haribo....c'mon back, I miss the back-chat with Aussie...who appears to be missing too....don't forget I know where you live!
Dogminding for DS2 and DD3 ( they bought a house which they share) so I now have a good excuse not to hoover...too many dog hairs!
We have had dinner just now as we had a big breakfast but couldn't wait any longer....salad with a risotto type thing with ham and brown bread...nice enough for a change but feel that the munchies will hit at some stage before bed-time.
Snowy....sorry to hear about job...budget messing here won't affect us as we have 'too much' (!!) money to avail of any freebies anyway...may apply now that Ulick is on permanent medication as it is going to cost at least €100 month.
Anniebooklover...welcome back, if briefly...do you feel that that there might be anyone who has not heard of Rab??
OK, so the decoration has changed but this is still our OS house, we'll get used to the change or change it or something...just don't go away
Hugs to all in need or want, welcome to newbies and congratulations to all who are celebrating

Thanks very much, my mam used to make all my curtains for me but since she passed away 2 years ago I haven't changed my curtains at all. I didn't want to get rid of something that she had made iyswim. Now that we are moving though all my windows are different sizes so I will have to learn to make them myself.0 -

marie, I didn't think that Rab C Nesbitt was very popular outside Scotland (I certainly had to translate a lot of it for the people I worked with in England when it was originally shown - things such as the "severe malky") and I don't think the younger posters would have heard of him. Maybe I'm wrong.
Hope your OH is improving daily.
bertiebots can't help with the pillows, I'm afraid. It took me ages to work my pillows into their comfortable state but I didn't sleep well for the first couple of weeks. Good luck."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Evening all (feel like Dixon of Dock Green -oops, showing my age),
Bertie Botts the best pillows are Dunlopillo but they're very expensive. I had bad neck problems for years. It always hurt to turn it and would flare up every now and then and require valium to relax the muscle spasm. About 2 years ago the GP referred me to a physio who was marvellous and completely cured it through a combination of massage and some advice on posture.
We've just eaten our Middle Eastern inspired lamb stew. I added a samll quince from my tree. It was delicious. I've made a chocolate fudge pud which we'll eat a bit later on when it has cooled. Everyone is getting ready to watch Strictly Come Dancing here. It's become a bit of an event chez nous. Dd absolutely adores it. My money is on Austin Healey closely followed by Cherie Lunghi;)

My FIL years ago used to watch Rab C Nesbit - as he is a Yorkshireman who had never been to Scotland I asked if he could understand it. The reply was "Not all of it but the bits that I do understand are hilarious!" I occassionally had to translate.
Took DD (nearly 15) shopping for a new winter coat and boots - actually found something she really liked!!! It was suitable and smart!!!!
Made brunch in the Remoska before we left and was tempted to get fish and chips when we got back but switched moski on and made veg spaghetti bolognese with potato wedges for those who did not want pasta- everyone polished it off happily.
DD needed the "Romeo and Juliet" dvd and after some searching got it at play.com for £3.99 with free postage (RRP was £19.99) so feel very smug!

Sorry about the job - lets hope it leads to a better one, fingers crossed for you.
Bertiebots
Could you sew the small pillow on top of a larger one and then sort of roll the edges to fit the height and sew down?
Going through to see X factor so see you all later
Big hugs - wether allowed to or not!!!!!

Hi guys,
well my little man woke up at 3am all excited about his birthday and has been buzzing all day. He has had loads of pressies and visitors and he wanted pizza and chips for his tea so that is what we all had followed by birthday cake.
We went to Asda with my bro. this morning and I spent an obscene amount of money on bits and pieces. I found a lovely cream lampshade to complement the new decor - when it gets up on the wallsand bought a second handset to go up in the bedroom for my wake-up calls when I am working.
OS wise, not much. The house has had a tidy and the dishes are done, the WM is on and I'll sling that lot on the line tomorrow if it isn't raining.
Snowy and Pen-pin :kisses3:
Newbies and returnees :hello:
Gentle hugs to all in need tonight and a nice big  on me to all who want one.
Good night,
Smoky. xxxxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb
