Hi again peeps
I see more people are up and about now.
Snowyowl - Aw poor baby Dylan, hope he`s ok now, it`s always a worry when one of the family is poorly. Hope he`s all snuggled up and purring happily.
Wmf - Sorry to hear that your dawgie was ill too, very good to see that he`s bouncing around now
Well DH rang me to say that he had missed the bus to work and asked me to take him  I only drive to w*rk and the supermarkets and i just don`t do the city at all. Going wasn`t too bad but i had no idea of the way home.
DH told me which way to go to get back but there were lots of roadworks and i was very nervous, i was back home for a good while before my hands stopped trembling
I walked the houndies when i came back and had a chat with some nice peeps in the local park which was nice and i`ve just had a sandwich and a cuppa.
I`ve blended the soup that i made with the turkey leg (turkey is out seperately for another meal) and it dosen`t need any meat putting in it at all! It tastes fab and i`m very pleased with it - guess what i shall be having for dinner
Tea tonight will be the fake duck that we were supposed to be having last night and the tortillas were made yesterday so nice and easy.
I shall hang out the washing in a mo and put away the ironing, i managed to clear the ironing mountain completely - until this lot of washing is dry that is.
I also need to make some bread rolls and a cake of some description and i shall also dig the curtains out to be altered.
Best get on with it so i shall call in later.
Have a good day peeps
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning all, having a nice lazy time this morning, sitting here in my pj's, DH is at work 7 till 3 so no rushing about for me today.
Have got a nice gammon joint in SC will have that later with jacket spuds and sweetcorn and make a nice HM lentil , bacon soup too.
As its free listing weekend on Ebay i will be spending most of the day doing that, then tonight me and DH are out at our Country and Western Club, looking forward to it as it seems to have been a long fortnight since we saw our friends. Thinking back to last year we were going out weekly, and sometimes twice a week, but there is no way we can afford that now.
Next fortnight we have a great Halloween Bash coming up at the club, i am going as a Black Widow and DH is going as Ghostrider, this involves a very tightfitting skeleton outfit, his stetson, holster and gun and cowboy boots. It's a good job he has lost weight recently LOL.
DD'S OH has found a government sponsored course to attend next week for 4 days doing key skills maths and english and they are paid £130, it is run through a local employment agency he has signed up with.
Campervan cost £75, it was brake cylinders seized, so its going like a good un now.
Well i must get a move on, will go and have a nice shower and make myself look half human, have a great weekend all BSB xx0 -
Well I am with tired_mum, moiliere, smokybabe, redruby, pen-pin choc-organge and others who do not feel quite at home now.
TBH I don't know what to say anymore, I used the read the thread and was inspired to reply, and no I am not one who writes names down and names everyone, but enjoyed their lives, and that is what was talked about "over the fence". I am not a cook, I do cook and from scratch, but that does not make me a natural or enjoy it tbh. I think the cause is what I fancy making usually is fattenening, and I have the ability to look at a cream bun and gain a stone! so do not need real temptation sitting in the cupboard.
IMHO the change of thread has only pleased a few, upset a awful lot more! , but I am with Twink, and old dogs don't do new tricks very well, so.
Off to worl soon all weekend so not much OS done here.
Am taking a HM cauli and broccoli cheese to work for tea with a veggie roast.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend
(((hugss))) to Snowy - hope you soon find something else xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
 Happy Birthday Dorry:beer: Hope you have a lovely day.0

Morning all
Is it still morning? I've been up since 6 for hubby to watch the GP. I've done my meal plan for the week & some of the meals are done & in the freezer. 4 meals made from one pack of mince. Off to B & Q soon for some extra roof insulation, it means using some of my savings, but hubby has almost no work at the moment so it is an ideal time to get it. Also going to get a couple of tubs for the garden as they are reduced at the moment & look for some long narrow ones for the kitchen window sills & try to grow some mixed leaves in them, thanks to who every suggested that.
I was hoiked out of my office yesterday by the police, much to the interest of the staff, but I wasn't arrested, lol.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hi everyone, im a os wannabe!! I try more these days to cook from scratch, have got a bm and even put a new zip in a skirt few weeks back!
I just wish I could have a few more hours in the day, what with work, spending time with dh and keeping up with chores its a battle to think what to cook and have it all in the cupboards.
Today for example i am at work 0730-1830 get home at 7pm, if I am not organised then i will have nothing prepared and it will be a quick meal rather than a fully heart warming meal. Think a meal plan is in order for the week.
I am instead off out tonight, I am meeting up with some girlie school friends that i haven't really seen since i left school some 12 years ago, so im excited we are going for a meal and drinks.
Hope you all have a good dayLove a charity shop bargain0 -
Good morning all! Sun is shining but slightly nippy here today.
Catznine - hope you're feeling a bit better today x
Kathy - enjoy your trip, I expect lots of tales about your lovely mum when you come home.
Beth - thanks for the Amazon tip, couple of books I want so will get on and order them.
Essex girl - if you want quick and easy salad leaves to grow, Lidl had some packs in with the veggies, think there were a few varieties all in little pots stuck together, looked quite good, shame I can't remember the price!
Snowy- good luck with the job hunt, again! I can't believe that they can't give you the job, or at least an interview, no wonder the NHS is in a mess!
Well os wise the wm is on, need to hang out the stuff I took out, but it was too cold to do in my jammies! BM is on with the usual loaf. Fried egg sarnies have been eaten for brekkie and think that's it so far!
Not done next week's meal plan so need to sort that out. Going to do fake duck as well tonight, just need to remember hoisin sauce whilst I'm out, else they'll have to use plum jam lol! That turned out really well btw, I love my jam maker - have I mentioned that before he he! Was going to go and hunt for pancakes, sure someone on os said farmfoods sell them, but will just make wraps instead, God bless Mrs M and her recipes!
Need to remove turkey from bones and make up the soup I threatened yesterday, then freeze the leftover turkey in portions.
Well I've had a think and it does seem a bit odd here at the mo, I'm not sure whether things have changed for those who read the thread or for those who actually contribute iyswim? Anyway, I can't do much except be me and I do chatter a lot, if it's too much then anyone please feel free to moan at me, I promise to try and include os stuff!
Today we are off to Taunton to have a browse around, don't know what we need but nice to potter for a bit, want to look in Primark for some jumpers for the girls. dd2 will hopefully last out the day, she was at a party last night till 10 and is usually grumpy as doodah after a late night! ds has opted to go out with a mate, he wanted to go to Taunton on Monday when he has an inset day, texted him and told him not to expect me to take him then as I'm going now if he wants to come - no doubt we'll have a row on Monday about it all, something to look forward to!
Anyway hugs to any and all, especially Penpin, Smokey and Marie. xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning all
Having a relatively OS day for me as the house is a bit messy. Got an old mattress to somehow get downstairs ready for "Bulky Bob" next week and another one to put back on the spare bed - not sure how im going to manage this I knew men came in useful sometimes
My washing machine has got loads of gunk in it so I have put the powder drawer in the dishwasher hoping it will be ok in there. So I can actually say the wm is in the dw:D
Got one of my favourite dinners planned tonight - chicken zorba from a old Sainsburys recipe mmmmm. Managed to pick up 27 lovely chicken breasts from Costco this week for £20 :j I seem to spend quite a lot this time of year at Costco but it fills my freezer nicely for the coming months. The chicken deal is on till Sunday for anyone with Costco cards btw.
Right im off to fight with a mattress wish me luck0 -
Morning all,
The only Old Styling going on here this morning is me watching Saturday kitchen and drinking endless cups of coffee to try and cure my sore head. Unlike yours thriftlady, mine was caused by the quantity of wine rather than the quality. The boys are all out at rugby but found time to trash the kitchen before they left, so I’ll sort that out in a minute.
I’ve got bacon and cheese panninis for when they get home then this afternoon we are heading up to the North Coast to see my brother and his family. It’s not often that he, Haribo and I all get together at the same time so I’m really looking forward to it. He’s a good cook so will probably make something delicious. I dare say more wine will be consumed but I think I’ll be taking it easy today.
Snowy, it’s great to see you posting but I’m so sorry to hear your news about the job and poor Dylan. I hope he recovers soon and no doubt you’ll enjoy spoiling him while he recuperates.
chocolate.orange, the pink stuff on your shower head is lime scale. If you give it a scrub with neat vinegar it should come off quite easily.
Welcome to glitterycloud, kerribaby, sickofhavingnomoney and carebearbecky.
Dorry, Happy Birthday, I hope you have a lovely day!
