Well I've written a couple more reviews on dooyoo and almost doubled my points. :j Seems to be working okay so far with the ones from Sunday now being redeemable. Also earned a few more free ipoints, free piggypoints but got chucked out of 4 surveys! How frustrating!

I solemnly swear to input my expenses tomorrow as it definitely went up £100 today alone! The best thing tho is if you look at the mileage rate - I get about £30 more per trip than the cost of petrol, so about £90 of the claim funds my petrol for the month. When I get the money back, I will add it to my £10 a day challenge - I think it will hit in November so that will help get me off to a flying start.

Bad news tho - got my water bill today and they have been undercharging us and so our bill has almost tripled - we were paying £23 and they plan to move it to £64. We are metered and I must confess that sometimes when I "topped up the pond" over the summer there were a few times when I accidentally left it running for a few DAYS. So it is all my fault and it literally was money down the drain! What we are going to have to do is try and take regular meter readings and then altho we will still be stuck with say a £20 per month underpayment from last year, hopefully we can claw back the extra they have put on to this year. I wonder whether we can say no - just set it at say £50 and if it is a problem after a bit then we'll give you the extra. I do think it is their fault for not reading the meter regularly enough... I might give it a go while I'm off with the kids next week...

Well I've just managed to successfully withdraw £12.17 in bingo winnings (having remembered the loophole that sometimes to withdraw winnings you need to deposit more to withdraw it). I will therefore promise to pay this to my stoozing account once it hits my bank!

I still need to do this on another bingo site as well I think I've just been trying to work out how - I will try that one tomorrow.

Before I update my sig, just wanna check that this includes payments that need to be made and not just extra amounts. Not done much as have been busy sorting out xmas presents etc but am going to sign up for dooyoo so wondered if anyone wanted to do the ref so they gets some points?
  • I'd really like to join in if thats ok??

I've only got a small CC debt left to repay and now my motivation is dwindling... Ive paid back £10k of debt already and the last £1600 seems to take forever..

    LoLo,

The challenge is just to pay off 15K of debt so it includes minimum payments and extra payments, just anything really to get rid of the debt.

I can refer you to dooyoo. If you send me a private message with your email address I will send you a referral to your email. Thanks for that!

    Beware of Dooyoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Everything seemed to be fine with my account until i tried to redeem my points for amazon vouchers!!! They have emailed me yesterday to say that they have suspended my account because of "word padding" fraud! this is apparently where you repeat words in your review such as the product name to reach 150 word and they deem this as "not useful to consumers". fair enough my reviews are brill but they are useful and have always been rated as such, i dont "word pad", i may occasionally mention the product name as and when i have to like other do but its not like i just have 150 words using just that repeated! ive emailed them saying i object, but im guessing i dont have much hope. Funny how they dont tell you you are doing something wrong until you try to claim ur cash!

On a nicer note.... cheque from mum and dad for money they lent me cleared so i rang up and paid off all my creditors. I now just owe the amount in my sig to my parents and that wont ever go up!!! feeeeeel soooo much better to be free of banks!!!!!

    Hey lysasparkles,

Sorry to hear about dooyoo. I have been with them since July and have redeemed vouchers for Amazon 3 times and have had no hassle. Hope it doesn't happen the next time I try. You are right. If they have a problem they should pull people up on this before they redeem points.

I have managed to transfer most of my OH's credit card to my 0% one. This means he has a very small debt to pay off, which he should be able to do with his part-time work. So I have started properly on the challenge (by £200!). I am certainly not going to be the 1st one to reach 15K but will enjoy the challenge and hopefully having 15K less debt by Xmas next year!

  • Just got my Barclaycard statement in, minimum payment is £168. Don't have enough money to pay it yet so am going to have to list loads on Ebay this week with BIN's to make the money.

Went out yesterday and found 1p on the floor so that is goin in the pot, every bit helps, whenever I walk anywhere I'll look out for dropped money on the floor and see how much I can find. There is a big parade of shops at the end of my road so am bound to find the odd 1p around.

Desperate times call for desperate measures!!!

I like this thread, that's why I joined. But realistically, I have no hope in hell (or anywhere else for that matter) of clearing 15K before next Christmas ( I know that's not the original challenge). Snowball calculator puts my DFD as sometime in 2014, which might change a bit come January when I’ve paid off my Barclaycard. But then I started seriously thinking when would I like to be debt free? And my wishful answer was end of 2010. That’s just over 2 years. This would mean I’d have to pay around £500 per month towards my debts. Not going to happen. If I’d be single, I would love to join the ‘Live on 4000k a year’ challenge, but it wouldn’t really wash with my bf. I’m already not doing a lot of stuff and saying “ I can’t afford to do that” and it’s annoying. But I don’t want to be in debt for another 6 years. Something’s got to change. Not sure what yet.Sorry, a debt is just always hanging there in the background stopping you doing things that you’d love to do.

Proud to have dealt with my debts!

God I just typed loads and then managed to delete it... what a numpty!

Nowt major here, still waiting to see my expenses clear against my credit card. Should have been paid today so will log on shortly to check that.

Tirlittan hun, dont pressure yourself with the xmas 2009. I wont be doing it by then either! Not by a long shot! What matters is that we do what we can, push ourselves when we need to, relax it when we need but its important to remember that WE WILL ALL GET THERE EVENTUALLY!
