  • Everyone is doing so much better than me, think I will be the last one to reach £15k, I wish I was able to get a job but bf does shift work during the week (one week earlies, the next week lates) and he also works every other weekend so that means I can't get an evening job or a weekend job. I used to have an evening job years ago as well as a full-time job and it was really good, I really enjoyed doing it, it was only 5.30-9.30 but it was such a laugh, it was doing Data Entry for a well known Pet Insurance Company.

I am so gutted really as when I sold my house to move in with bf all those years ago I had £50,000 profit, I paid off my car loan and credit cards and had no debts, was paying bf rent each month, took my parents to Hawaii on holiday but after having our first baby I had to keep dipping into my savings and it all went, the last £15,000 went on part of the deposit for our house.

I am so determined to get out of debt this time and stay out of debt, I'm just so impatient and want to pay it all off NOW, part of the reason I owe so much is doing balance transfers and having to pay the 3% fees and the interest, wish I had realised how bad it was before now.

I wish Lloyds had a better offer so I could transfer a big lump sum to my Duo credit card as it's a pain having 5 statements coming in at various times of the month.

Anyway, must end before I go on and on and on.

    Hi All...

Too_Much - We all make mistakes in trying to sort it out which sometimes backfires. I did that with BT as well as I regret it still but hey its a lesson learnt.

What about a work from home kind of job, like avon or betterware or something? I admit I dont know much about them but you can kind of pick and choose when youre out and about.

PoorAnd - What are you spending on?! Cmon 'fess up.... I'm having to live through other peoples spending LOL

Listed one yes yes ONE book on amazon lol, so much easier than listing on Ebay, so going to spend some more time tomorrow evening when I get home from work listing a few more. OH should be out and fed somewhere else so means some quiet time indoors.

  • Well, there were presents for my niece and nephew (I always spoil them a bit as I don't see them often) and I had to take nice booze and nice cheese to a party I went to at the weekend (but shhhhhhhh don't tell the people on the 100 day challenge with me, I am not meant to be buying cheese - lol, at least it wasn't meant to be for me, although it did come home with me)

Nothing that exciting, oh that it were a lovely dress, pair of nice boots or some lovely premium posh cosmetics, but no.....sob

Just focus on the fact that there is less poo to clean up if you just borrow them and they are less likely to chew your favourite pair of shoes

I keep on having the same debate with myself if you replace the word 'dog' with 'handbag' :D

  • Dogs are lovely, my bf had a dog when I met him, he was 10 years old (the dog not bf), his name was Rocky, he was a Collie Cross, he was so lovely and he let me into his life so quickly, we became best friends and spent lots of time together, he was like my first child, I did everything for him, fed him, walked him, hugged him, kissed him, whatever I was eating I'd have to share with him. He used to sleep on the bottom of the bed and in the night would shuffle his way up the top and sometimes you'd wake to find his head on the pillow next to you - sounds horrible to non-dog lovers but it was sweet, although he did used to take up all the room, if you turned over he'd spread out, he was such a character.

We had to have him put to sleep in Sept 06, he was 15 and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I don't regret for a single minute having him in my life and I've always loved dogs, they are a tie though and it's not nice having to take them for walks in the freezing cold and snow.

Also picking up poo is not nice either. I sponsor a dog through Dogs Trust, it's only £4 a month but it's something I always said I would do once Rocky wasn't around anymore so am not going to cancel it, I'd rather miss out on my Dairy Milk.
