Hiya people! :hello:
Can I please join this challenge? Only found the thread today and you all seem such a lovely bunch.
As you can see from my sig, I owe £13,196.02 at the moment, most of it being my student loan which gathers interest at 9%. So I guess I should pay that off and have £1,803.98 in savings (I’ve never ever had anywhere near that in savings).
My first target is to pay off my Barclaycard (standing at £487.66 after paying £88 extra this month) by January as the 0% rate ends then. This should be doable as this month (started a new job 15/9) I got paid for 6 weeks instead of 4 (which I didn’t know) and so £200 of ‘extra’ pay will go towards clearing it. And next month I shall get some back pay, which will pay more of the card again.
Next year I have to balance paying as much as I can towards my Student loan and paying my Virgin CC. For reasons I won’t go into now, I didn’t pay anything in the first year I was supposed to of my student loan and so it has accumulated £2,243 worth of interest. L My plan with Virgin is to pay the minimum amount every month, but then the extra I’ve budgeted paying towards it every month I shall put into high interest savings account, so when the 0% interest ends in the beginning of September, I can pay a big lump sum. J

Hi Tirlittan.... welcome to the challenge. your plan all sounds good to me and well thought out.
I should start making more of a definitive plan as to what I'm paying and when etc, rather than just looking at the whole number..Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Welcome Tirlittan
I have a £2 coin to add to my tin and some change I got from the Shop earlier (not sure how much it is yet).
Am off to Primark tomorrow to buy the kids some clothes before they go off to Grandma and Grandpa's on Friday.
Didn't get any credit card statements today, used my Paypal money to buy a Xmas present rather than using my credit card so am proud of myself for that, now I'm back to 0 in my Paypal account though. Getting more listed tonight so hopefully will sell some more stuff.
It's quiet here today, are we all coming up with 'get rich quick' schemes? Do any exist? If so, let me know.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
My work are crediting the hotel charges back to my credit card via the hotel (who charged my card and not the business card) so thats £150 that sould show up in my account soon.
When it does I will add it to my sig
The rest I can then claim from my petty cash. WOOHOO, will do that when Im back at work on friday... first thing I promise!Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
