Now I'm just confussed over what the point is, roflIf my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0

People may not remember the reason someone was moaning, but when considering purchasing something from the same company, they are likely to remember that someone was complaing about something, - I certainly have, even if it was a flipant remark. Granted if I remember why, I'll maybe contnue with my prospective purchase, but if I don't remember why they were complaining just that they were complaining, I probably wouldn't continue with the purchase.
Yeah but my point is, which is true. Is when others moan people don't listen. Look at Tesco, with the amount of threads with people complaining on here it should have gone out of business by now, not be the UK's biggest retailer.0 -

There are two 'p's' in flippant. You're so quick to pick up on Lone Ranger's spelling........ couldn't let that one pass...
Meanwhile, this thread is over isn't it? Slightly bigger lady bought the blasted chair, which she has probably broken by now....Genie

I haven't read the full thread, just the initial post so apologies if I repeat anyone!
Firstly, I am presuming this was an antique chair. We've evolved to a different size and general shape, so something built 150years ago could not be reasonably expected to accomodate an average sized woman, let alone a large one, however, in this instance I think the OP perhaps dealt with it a bit insensitively? I can totally appreciate the panic he probably felt when he saw what she did/planned to do tho! haha. It's all a lesson though isn't it, already he's put a sign up saying no sitting on the chairs - this way he can use his discretion in future.
Lone, I think a discretely worded sign accompanied by a 'cough' and a point the next time someone of inappropriate size looks to go and sit on one should suffice.
I know exactly where you are coming from, I don't think you've opened a noose for your own neck.. there's nothing the 'fattie brigade' can honestly complain about if something is geniunely too delicate for their use. I'm one of said fatties, you'd probably have panicked if I'd gone to sit on it! (except I wouldn't!)
On a side note, did you consider re-directing her to another piece similar to those she had already purchased? Food for thought for next time
