Yes of course a business will tell you this, it's in their interest. I'm very sceptical of whether this statistic is true, who on earth could have bothered to research it? I imagine it's far more likely it's been made up for the purpose of training.

Should it be true lets un-brainwash ourselves from corporate thinking and actually use our brains. When your local Victor Meldrew complain to 16 other people (the number keeps growing and growing, in the 90's it use to be 10. Chinese whispers or made up?????) do they think "oh, I'd better never shop there". Or do they think "there he goes, bloody well moaning about something again".

Classic corporate text book thinking, but it's teaching you to be their robot, it's not teaching you the real world.

How many people moan on here, compaired to how many people praise when they have good service? When you have a bad experience in a restaurant, do you complain to the manager? Do you compliment to the manager if it's a good experience? Fewer people do the latter. There's got to be some truth in the "stats".
Think this may help you foxxymynx....

Personally, I thought 'foxxy' was spelt with just the one 'x'
Thanks. I couldn't see that post. I'll not explain but it genuinely isn't me being catty, more complex than that. Foxxy is usually spelt ith one "X" and Mynx with an "I". The difference was mine was deliberate and my comment was to prove a point...which was no doubt wasted :rotfl:
clearly confrontation is what you are after .
    Self glory and hypocritical...
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!

I don't doubt it, lol, but IMO people are more likely to talk about a bad experience in a shop or restaurant or anywhere with customer services, than a good experience.

But people are less likely to listen. As Tim says, people get to know who the serial complainers are, the "There was a millilitre more tea when I ordered the same yesterday!" types that are not satisfied unless they find something to complain about. However, as people don't talk so much about the good experiences, if someone does most people will take their word for it and try the service when they need it. The serial complainers rant will be discarded.

People may not remember the reason someone was moaning, but when considering purchasing something from the same company, they are likely to remember that someone was complaing about something, - I certainly have, even if it was a flipant remark. Granted if I remember why, I'll maybe contnue with my prospective purchase, but if I don't remember why they were complaining just that they were complaining, I probably wouldn't continue with the purchase.

Could it be his posts = 763 posts attracted 151% thanks
    Foxxy's posts = 181 posts attracted 200% thanks

    Or
No. of his posts thanked = 34%
    Foxxy's 45% of posts thanked.

Oh I really have too much time on my hands:rolleyes:
