Tigerlilly...ive bought my dog sooooooooooo many things she doesnt use! Ive got 2 extra dog beds in the loft and one of them is a pine 4 poster(small one as shes only 4lb in weight)....she prefers the run of the mill plastic dog bed...lol.
  • oh, just thought - I havent tried it but a lot of people on various dog forums seem to really rate csj dog food http://www.csjk9.com/ and the ingredients and prices look good too.

FC,.....i remember as a child a beautiful sheltie used to live by us called 'Flame'. We used to call his owner Flames dad .......:rotfl:

ha ha - yep, more of the kids know the dogs name than know mine, and when I do get a greeting its usually after the dog does.

When I had my last dog, she was well known too - once she was in season and couldn't go out to the park like normal - a little girl from up the road asked why she wasnt coming out, so I thought fast and said 'oh, she is a bit poorly so she is staying on for a bit'.

Later that ay there as a knock at the door and the same little girl was there, with a bunch of flowers she had picked 'to cheer the dog up' - so sweet, bless her!:A

Awwwwwwwwww that's so sweet! Which gives me ANOTHER question (Won't you all be glad when I get my books!) when/if she does come into season does she have to stop in all the time? Or is it best to just go out when it's quiet? I'd hope uncastrated dogs weren't off lead but who knows!

I think i'll be up all night cleaning (I am, honest!) I'm just stopping to stuff my face! I dunno quite where i'm gonna put all my junk mind you. I'm gonna go look at that food now FC ta! omg I can't quite believe it's happening, I think i'm too nervous too in case it doesn't work out.
  • You can walk her on lead when in season, but be vigilant for any off lead boys!! I used to stick to walking the streets with mine, where most dogs are on-lead, and avoid the park where they are more likely to be running free.

    I have Pm'd you too!

Tigerlilly...will you be getting her spayed or not? Id be so worried about another dog getting to her when your out walking her, when shes in season. Although ive only ever had 2 female dogs and they were both spayed,so i dont really know the likelihood of this happening if shes kept on a lead.
I bet it feels like Christmas come early for you, as she will soon be home with you! I cant wait to hear how things go xxxx

Yeah if it turns out she's not spayed then she will be done 3 months afterb her season yeah. The rescue don't know which some find weird but all the Vets I asked said it can be hard to tell, a scar can be from other things. I'll be worried too but i'll do what FC says & stick to roads & hopefully we won't see any off lead dogs then (Tho there is a family on another road who just open the door so their old dog can go wonder & do his business then they let it in without clearing up!)
