Many thanks, your plan looks excellent, thanks so much for sharing this with us all.
Can't wait to get the 2009 season underway now0 -
Hi,
Have just PMd you - would love the plans to help get me motivated to finally sort out the garden this year. You're a star ! :T
Talk about 'Dig for Victory'...... think more and more people are looking at ways of maximising what they can produce for themselves or source direct, rather than shelling out more and more money to overpriced 'middle-men'.
I didn't plan to have much in the way of floral planting this year (been haphazard before now, anyway) - will convert some areas to veg and try and get a 'year-round' scheme in place, so can have some produce into the winter for a change. Have tended to start off OK in spring (enthusiastic then !) then fade away by summer - so we enjoy some home grown tomatoes etc, but have nothing to pick from October onwards !
Good luck all - will be watching this thread with interest !

Thank you so much for your wonderful plan. As I mentioned I haven't yet completed my first complete year, but I am soooooo hooked. Would love to see some photos of your plot if you have any.
I must mention to everyone that I picked up some great gardening books from WHSmith today - reduced from £30 to £6.25!!
Mum of 4 - when you harvest and freeze your veg for storing, do you blanch it first? If so, how long for?
I love the idea of home made jams and chutneys, and particularly your ham and chicken pie. Would love the recipe when you have a free minute.
Also, do you currently have anything growing in pots outside or inside on the windowsill? I just have my herbs at the moment which I have just brought in from outside, but I wondered if I could do anything else inside on the windowsill or outside in pots?
Sorry to ask so many questions0 -
Thank you very much. I got your planting plan. I really appreciate the effort. It sounds like you have it sussed.

what a great thread - I have pm'd you and I am eager to learn /know more so I can try my hand at some more growing this year. Found it so fulfilling growing potatoes and lettuce last year. Want to do more this year.
I see more gardens are turning back into vegetable patches lately;)0 -
