keep them ringing, but loud please .....
i'll then fall asleep in front of the roaring fire ....0 -
Spent the day getting labels and packaging from the freezer contents, which sadly have to be re-imbursed as the freezer has gone phut. It is less than 8 months old.. pah humbug.
I'm listening to the bells and eating chestnuts with some lovely mulled wine in front of the cafe fire.
The virtual dogs and cats have been fed the defrosted beef and chicken and have enjoyed it.
Otherwise not a bad day healthwise, less achey and was able to potter in the kitchen.
Hope everyone in the cafe, lurking or otherwise, has a serene evening and a good night's sleep.
We are worth it :T:T:T:T

I've not made it in over the last week as life has been a tad manic for more the right reasons than wrong ones for a change. The week before was highly distressing and took a good few days to get over the initial shock of events. I've lurked a bit to try and keep up with everyone and with a few crazy days now over, my mind's doing over-time as it tries to digest everything - sorry for such a long rambly post but it may help me sleep properly tonight.
The week didn't start off well as DS has had his bank card cloned for the second time in 5 months. After getting a charming letter about "his" overdraft and the astronomical charges that came with it, I went with him this time, to sort it out. DS is a college student, without an income for the last 2 months and doesn't spend money he hasn't got - it definitely wasn't him spending from abroad  . Nice of them to arrange an overdraft to cover it ........ and the charges they implimented were . We made it clear we wanted it sorted immediately and didn't appreciate their patronising and I couldn't believe it when the cashier effectively said it was his fault as he "had the wrong card" .......... swift answer was "Well, you gave it to him" ... DS is now changing banks!
The OT did her home visit on tuesday and I'm ecstatic as at loooonnnggg last, she is arranging for the adaptions I need in my kitchen, replacement of my front door (sticks so badly that fully able bodied people complain about opening it) and putting an additional door step in. :j :j :j Will probably be done in the new year, but it's such a relief to finally get this far at last.
My car passed it's MOT on wednesday and given it's age, the amount of rattles and clanking it does, was very unexpected at the first attempt. A major relief too as I depend so much on it and have to drive to the shop for things such as milk as I can't carry it home.
I'm also sorting out my new chinchilla cages and the one I'm getting is fantastic in everyway. It's not going to be cheap but it will last them many years. They will all benefit from extra space to their current cages and I'll be able to clean them out without needing help. I've been selling things I don't use or need to pay for them so I feel I've accomplished something too :rotfl: .
Today came the icing on the cake ......... if it happens ... I still can't believe this though. DD's friend said she will arrange for my out-house to be plaster boarded and made into a utility room ........ and I won't have to pay for anything apart from decorationg it! It's been my dream since moving here and even moreso since disabilities took over my life. It will make the world of difference to me and free up much needed space in the kitchen.
I'll help myself to a warm milk and honey - haven't had that for years - and thing a dash of brandy will do the trick to help me sleep. (I've cleaned up the mess I've made.)
I've brought some aromatherapy scented candles in and please help yourself. There's quite a mixture so choose the fragrance for your mood. I've lit the lavender one as I think that will induce some sleepiness too .... zzzzzzzzzzzz0 -
*tiptoes in and tucks a warm fleecy blanket round Bluedog*
You sleep well, sounds like you've earned a good rest

Just popping in to say a quick hello so I'll do a spot of waitress-ing for Sharon whilst I'm here, anyone else need anything fetching or carrying? Haven't been in much as been having windows fitted and by the time workmen go off home I'm shattered. Last day today I hope, I'm very pleased with them, got rid of some serious draughts!
have a peaceful day everyone, take it easy and keep warm... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Yawns and stretches....... hands fleece blanket back to alto
. Thank you, I slept so well and hope you weren't cold.
<<<<<<< hugs >>>>>>>> sharon59 (gently). You don't look a day near 49, let alone 99 but I know that feeling at times. Hopefully the pain killers will do their bit and you'll feel better soon. Glad your dd has been given the all clear.
I'm attempting to sort car insurance out today along with other financial bits, so can I have a large coffee with egg muffins please? It should be enough to get my foggy brain cells going I hope!0 -
Just about to have coffee in the real world, so I've put the espresso maker and cappucino maker on for everyone here.
I'll even try to put chocolate powder on the top in the shape of a heart, especially if you say please.
My neighbours have been kind and offered freezer space. The lovely dogs two doors away now have some meaty treats and I'm cooking up the gooseberries from the garden into a crumble.
To say I'm not pleased that the freezer has gone phut is an understatement. Fortunately I have been reasonably well lately otherwise this would have sent me into a bunker with all the faff and effort.
Hope everyone is chugging along nicely and making sure you have the virtual hugs whenever the need arises.
