BZ, nice to see you! :)
Thanks :) I'm struggling to get in at the moment - between trying to get MIL's house ready to go on the market, trying to get her well (she's currently in the hospital...again!), trying to keep our house afloat, and money somewhat undercontrol (it's really not atm!!:()...and of course there's the usual lack of attention span issues...*rolleyes*;) Hope you're all as ok as you can be. I don't really know how to help you with your not feeling achievement thing - mainly cos I struggle with the exact same thing!!

Bayblue I'm afraid I can't help you with that one... I don't have anything back fastening myself - I don't even concern myself with bra clasps most of the time as I tend to wear those crop tops - I can't deal with where bras sit and make me hurt!:o I can't for the life of me work out how that thing you posted a picture to works tbh! It doesn't really look like it'd be just a doddle to attach iyswim? The only other thing I can think of is that this would count as a "reasonable adjustment" - which employers are now oblidged to make for employees with disablements - would they be willing to get the design altered, or a side-seam zip put in, for you? Or for that matter, if you didn't want to approach them about it, could a seamstress do it for you/would you be able to manage a side zip? But, also, like they said feel free to stick around :)

Hope you are all preparing to snuggle with significant others tomorrow.
Not a hapy time here in the house of Auntie Axe - turns out Dad's shoulder isn't healing as he's got secondary bone cancer there and they haven't found the primary source yet.
Made worse by not being able to visit him in hossie as they have Norovirus outbreak.
2010 really has been a !!!!!! year so far.

  • Oh CWTA, so so sorry about your dad, sending many hugs your way.

I got a delivery today via my brother from some friends from church and youth group, 2 gorgeous cards saying they hope I'm feeling better soon and other wonderful things- one from 3 year old daughter of an old youth leader- and the other from my youth leaders, plus a sizeable box of thornton's chocolates, has totally made my week. Still struggling with feeling low and crying like some hormonally demented fool but getting there.

Really hope it's quiet in here cos everyone's doing ok and not cos you're not!

Oh CWTA I'm really sorry about your father and the situation at the hospital, that's awful. I only hope 2010 gets a lot better for you.

Invasion, I know what you mean about making your week when you get something like that, knowing people are wishing you well when you are feeling so low. It's a real big deal when you get something like that, it's as if you do mean a lot to people and are not forgotten ... put to one side and put on the scrap heap!

Oh dear, I don't seem to be able to explain myself at all today - head all jumbled!!:)

Auntie Axe, I'm so sorry to hear this:(. Don't know quite what to say - I was only thinking about you yesterday. Well, have a gentle Wolfy (((HUG))) to be going on with; and I hope your wrist's healing OK.

(((HUGS))) to all the other Cafe-goers who are having a rough time, too. I won't list all the names, for fear of accidentally omitting someone, but you know who you are!:o

So sorry to hear this - sending you my best wishes. 2009 was pretty sucky for me - we can never predict what is going to happen. Just as well really because I'd have probably given up years ago.

Its so beautiful outside today - took DD1 riding this morning. She was 15 on Friday :eek: Its half-term this week. Our other sister is coming down to spend some time with us and Daddy is due the week after. He's timed it just right as he will get to DS perform at the Acoustic Cafe.
All running smoothly in the hen house - make the most of it!!

Poor poor credit card, not very moneysaving day ;) 2 dvds from Amazon and new dressing gown and two basic tops- comfy to wear in bed and easy to layer for bad temp control from Matalan, plus a lunch box cubey thing from amazon so that I can make lunch, and breakfast (not together!) chuck it in the box, and throw it up the stairs, leaving me to crawl happily without awkwardly trying to hold a plate or whatever at the same time! Also have had 2 "permanent" plastic bottles from Amazon last week, I use disposable plastic ones which don't clean very easily so this is genius, plus, I have one pink and one turquoise! Am so easily excited ;)

Have a good day everyone x

lol, some things need to be bought tho eh Invasion ;) I use disposable bottles too, so I'm interested to see what you bought if you fancy sharing? DH bought me a snazzy sports bottle type thing last Christmas, but you can't see through it so you can't see how full or not it is/dilute things in it easily etc.

I've forgotten what else I was gonna say. Cwta knows she's in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, that was it, Invasion I know what you mean too about the things that lift your spirits. A friend of mine at church yesterday was saying that he thought I had the right attitude to my illness and dealing with it and he didn't know how I did it and stuff. He's someone I really respect so it meant a lot, iyswim? He's also gonna organise a bit of a work party to come help out at MILs on Saturday to get it ready and presentable for both photos to get it on the market, and viewers when it is on the market. Which of course is awesome and incredibly needed, seeing as I'm neither use nor ornament most of the time ;) and hubby works 60hrs a week usually, and MIL has just come out of hospital yet again... :o

I had some retail therapy today! Received a decorating grant from a small local charity and had great fun blowing £100 on several tins of paint, a new light fitting, paint brushes etc.

Now all we need to do is actually some decorating.....

Mind you, the grant is also supposed to cover the purchase of a rug (argh, where is the shrugging shoulders smiley), why a rug I don't know as I think of them as a trip hazard....we got rid of our last one because middle son caught the edge of it, went flying and cut his head open!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
