bz had no idea abt your sisters partner and friend, how awful. Has your foot got any easier?
Aye it was, but I have to remind myself that it was 5 years ago now, and she's now married and moving on and me dwelling on it isn't going to help matters :o
The foot's still not fully healed (still swelling and bruising at the outside base of my ankle), and the physio says I need to still work on my proprioception (sp?) using the excercises she gave me....but I'm now on my own. The physios have discharged me and said that as I can do the exercises at home they don't need to see me anymore. I think it's a bit of a copout, personally, although I can see their reasoning... Thanks for asking :)

I was like that with the wheelchair, and even now, I try not to use it as much as possible, because it is sort of facing up to the health problems and acknowledging that you need help. I think that's the hardest part - being so independent, then having to rely on others :(
I completely understand what you mean, but I'm with Invasion - if you're anything like me, using the wheelchair means that you have more energy (slightly ;)) and less pain (slightly ;)) to do other things, which can be as simple as having a shower, making tea, getting a drink for yourself... those things mean more to my independance than whether I walk or sit going round a boring old shop ;) Some aids that can be seen as taking away our independance are actually, in reality, giving us more independence. Of course I had to swallow an awful lot of pride to admit that ;):D

Jaz glad you won your parking space battle! :T

 to all others. Had bacon butties this morning, made by hubby, after he woke me at 7am to view the foot of snow that had dropped overnight! After taking in the gravity of the situation - driving wise - and attempting to get to his mum's to check on her (virtually round the corner) in the snow, it was more than decided that there was no way he was gonna make it into work. So we had a snowday!! :D There are pics (already uploaded for any of you on fb) if anyone else wants to see, just holla :)

    Oh noo, it's snowing. :(

I'm so tired and got to de-ice the car and drag myself to work.

Yep a good covering here....eldest sons school is closed until 11am but the two younger ones school is still open.

I really don't want to drive them to school, I have to come from a more rural area and drive into the town and our roads are horrendous outside.

    Eeeeekkkk!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Oh well, got just over half way there and met my neighbour on her way back...complete with her son, school shut.

Absolutely horrendous conditions out there with nothing moving at more than a crawl pace, cars sliding all over the place and a motorcyclist almost coming to grief (but managed to stop himself falling completely) in front of me.

Took me over 45 minutes to do that run.

    :TYAY! Way to go Jaz:j

Woke up with a migraine this morning. Piggin' snow, I always get a bad head when it snows. Dunno why.

Re wheelchairs; mine gets referred to either as the Chariot or the Wolfmobile - daft, but it seems to make it much more acceptable to use it, iyswim.

Anyways, do stay safe, people; this snow is horrid, and I worried a lot about Mr LW driving 30 miles to work this morning.

    Heya everyone.

Haven't really been back here to post as things have been a bit hectic here.

OH's mum and dad have offered to pay for us to get married this year! We're so ecstatic! They were going to take out a second mortgage to buy a place and then we rent from them but that doesn't seem like a viable option so they've offered to pay for our wedding.:D

LW, it's probably the brightness of the snow. I had one earlier, too.

I think it's to do with atmospheric pressure; I had it before we opened the curtains. Hope you're OK now, Trialia.

LadyM, so when's the big day then? Some of us have experience of helping to anticipate a wedding, don't we, BZ?:D
