Welcome Singlesue! Oh dear, sounds like the hospital is going to be your second home this week. Hope they all go well!

I'm very excited at the moment, I've been wanting to get into crafting for awhile - particularly making cards. I've just made my first order of loads of stuff - hopefully enough to get started anyway! Spent a fortune, but can't wait for it all to arrive! Anyone else into making cards?

Jaz, when I emailed them and asked for shipping costs they said that too.... but when I bought them paypal only charged me $6 for shipping, and my address is quite clearly in the UK, there was no option for postage, shall see what happens and let you know!
What's the problem you're having with laptop table?

Welcome Singlesue, and good luck with the hospital appts :)

Hi to all others too, and hugs for those who need them!

Ah, that's interesting! Let me know whether they let it through for that please?

It doesn't sit comfortably - unless I sit with my legs straight. I prefer to sit crosslegged, as it helps with my hip pain, or lying down on the sofa/bed - but the legs don't have enough flexibility. If I wanted to sit up straight with my legs down properly - I wouldn't need a laptop holder in the first place! ;)

Haha! Well, mine doesn't sit on me... It has legs that are wide enough to go round me- I nearly always use laptop in bed- and so it's over my chest/tummy area, but high enough for me to reach under it, and wriggle, I have to use my v pillow to hold my arms at a comfy angle... let me find a picture :P
this is my one, apart from it's turquoise ;) I tip the "desk" part of it up, so that the keyboard is straight ahead of me, and I can see it... Is this making any sense? And is it at all helpful or is yours totally different?!

Yes, it's very similar. I will have another go - as I got frustrated and haven't really tried again!

    Thanks guys for the welcome.

It's amazing the little tricks we come up with isn't it? I used to read with not very much to support me in bed but now have a V pillow behind (and two pilllows behind that!) plus a pillow on my lap to read a book.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

    Welcome singlesue! :)

I'm still quiet, but more to do with just being a bit sniffly and/or busy really. I catch up with you guys every now and again, but have been making the most of DH being off work (til today when he went back :o), along with the usual seeing familyness that goes along with the season.

    Catch up properly soon though.

Oh and Jaz, you should find someone to complain to about the DSS (or whatever they're called now ) ringing your mum! Unless you've elected her to give information on your behalf that is completely out of order!!

 to everyone else :D I'm off to bed!

Good luck, Sue! I'm severely hypermobile with Marfanoid traits, too, except I don't have Marfan's syndrome (I'm short in most ways, not like the traditional tall&thin Marfan's sufferers): I have hypermobility-type Ehlers-Danlos. Pretty sure I know what rib thing your kid is talking about, too. *g* I can subluxate mine...

Welcome to the cafe Sue, I'm an RTA back sufferer with nerve damage, so get where you are coming from. I'm bad enough for a Blue Badge (thank God) but never gone the DLA route cos I get by through pacing myself - batch cook when i can, then get a "ready meal" out the freezer when I can't etc. :D

I have a very good GP but like you, hate to bother, I also hate being proded and poked and avoid :o

I also know what it's like having disabled kids - mine were both born high frequency deaf (masked gene) so have done my stint with hospitals and schools and Statements ........ draining isn't it? ;)

    Hang in there

Paw delighted you have a new hammy - I'm sure he will have as long and as happy a life as your last little friend.

bz had no idea abt your sisters partner and friend, how awful. Has your foot got any easier?

cwta keep strong. Is your jaw any better? Sorry your sister let you down like that.

pcl, Sharon, Suep, hope you had a good Christmas and New Year and that everything is Ok :D

Not ignoring the rest of you, just running out of steam :hello:

We still have snow dammit  street has been solid ice since 18/12 but rest of the roads are fine. I'm soooo cold that I've bitten the bullit and arranged to have a new boiler fitted so belt tightening is in progress
