*crawls in* I hate hate HATE being so tired I struggle to think. Don't you guys? I keep falling over today because my balance is shot, and I have no idea what triggered this stupid spell.
Sorry I haven't been around, guys. I've had so much to catch up on between all the stuff I let slide while I was in the flare from hell. I'm nearly back to general, I think, but still got a lot on and not a lot of spoons to handle it all.

cwta usually it does, but yesterday I thought Id use my heated tens machine, when I took it off later in the evening my hand brushed against my back and I felt something funny, I got a small mirror to see what it was and I have big blisters where the tens pads were
I'm glad your Dads a bit brighter
Gawd Sue! That's bad! Is your skin hyper-sensitive there at the moment do you think?
I've only just discovered Eurax and think it might be good for burns as well as (to use one of my Dad's sayings) "coughs, colds, sore holes and pimples on your belly" *g*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Good morning all
Tis my day off - but have to be up early for Hydrotherapy. Just this one and next week to go - then no more early Tuesday mornings! I really struggled to get out of bed this morning though, almost phoned in ill but managed to drag myself out.
suep - that's awful! Are they painful? I hope it heals soon.
I've been having some issues at work. Part of my job is putting up posters and sign-posting before an event. This can be once or twice a day, plus taking them all down again. I've been finding this really difficult, and I've gone from using my walking stick on occasion to pretty much all the time. And I've found I haven't got the energy to go to the actual event.
We have some student helpers daily, which basically help us out, but we have to go through their team leader to get jobs assigned to them. His job isn't really to say yes or no, but to prioritise things.
Anyway, whenever anyone else passes him a student job it's all "yes, no problem." When I pass him a job, there is always an issue, or stuff I have to do before I can pass it on. My manager (who is above him) is always telling me to pass more stuff on, but he's like "oh, sorry they're too busy" when I ask.
Anyway, he moaned that I gave him some posters only three hours before they had to go up, which wasn't enough time - so I gave him the posters for Monday morning on Friday night to prevent that complaint.
Anyway, Monday morning the student helper comes in with a sore knee, so the team leader comes up with all the posters and puts them down on my desk and says oh sorry, she can't do it. I said to him - you do realise why I ask for help don't you? And he nodded, and then started to walk away! Luckily another girl in his team overheard and offered to go for me.
I'm not saying the student should have done it with a bad knee, but he doesn't seem to understand that every. single. one. of my joints, is like that on a daily basis.
Now I know for a fact that my manager took him aside last week, and said they had to give me as much help as possible with physical things. He didn't even try to find another solution.
Last week I asked if some students could do some photocopying for me - as we have the slowest photocopier ever, and I had about 10 seperate sheets to do, so it would cause me a lot of pain to stand there and do it. He said they were too busy, so I went and did it myself - putting my back into spasm for the rest of the day. I did 24 of each of the 10 sheets (double sided) and put together everything else I needed in a big box. Each was to be made up into a little pack. I typed out the instructions and put it in the teamleaders in-tray and also mentioned it to him in person, that I needed them done in two weeks. The box vanished, I thought they'd be done. The event arrives and they haven't been done - and he denies all knowledge of knowing about the job, making me look an idiot!
God knows where the box has gone! All that work for nothing.
Sorry, that was a right old whinge! Just really fed up with him. I'm waiting for him to do a few more things, then will complain to my manager."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Morning everyone...
Still feeling rubbish. It took me from 8am til 10 to get out of bed this morning, I'm in so much pain and I'm so tired. Phoned my GP, but he told me to 'bear with it', and that I'm only 19, I'll find ways to adapt. Helpful. Spoke to my consultant's secretary at the hospital, who told me he was too busy to help, and to contact my GP.
So many essays to write, and I'm feeling so lonely. Was supposed to start work yesterday but I just couldn't...they were very understanding, though.
Worried about my mental health, too, and despite finding it really hard to talk about, I emailed the team that used to help my mum. They pretty much told me to see my GP too...said they "appreciate that by the sounds of things I need assistance, but I really don't know what we can do."
I feel cursed, and very, very lonely.
Jaz That sounds horrible. What a horrible man. Definatly complain, that isn't on at all.
Sue Ouch! I was given a hospital tens machine maybe ten years ago, it was perfect, it went higher then ones in the shops and had a massage setting too. A charity funded it with the hospital, it cost £350....my mum sold it when I moved out though, and I miss it so much. The hospital won't be sympathetic, and I won't be able to afford a new one...I love the things, though. A god send...you could try getting the heat gel to put on as an extra layer between it and your skin?Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -

Ouch!! Has your tens machine gone wrong somehow? It shouldn't cause blisters.
I have never used my TENS machine, it is still in its box. My electric heat pad has gone wrong though, it burns me even on the lowest setting.
Does TENS help FM?business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

It really depends on the person, rather than the condition. I have FMS but it's never helped me, but it has helped other people.
The pain clinic at the hospital often loans them out, if that helps. You can then try and see if it helps you, before buying a new one and possibly wasting your money."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
suep i was given one but had opposite effect ...so had to give up using it ...are you allergic to the sticker pads ? as that happens in the past when i had to use the blue plaster's.....coffee and ginger cake anyone ?the truth is out there ... on these pages !!0

Thanks for all the sympathy, it's not a normal Tens, I have one of those too and will stick to that from now on, this is one of the heated Tens that Lloyds pharmacy sell, the patches heat up as well as massage and it's been great up until now, I think I might have had it on too long although I found even with the normal Tens I was allergic to the stickers and had to get some hypo - allergic ones online.
I do find the Tens helps while I'm using it, it blocks the pain signals so you dont notice it so much, but once you take it off the pains back, but its great when the pains unbearable and your at screaming/ crying point.
Heres a link for Lloyds pharmacy, they've got a sale on their Tens at the moment, although I'm not a good advert for the heated one, it was lovely before it brought me up in blisters
