I'm fuming. I woke up to a woman from the letting agency letting herself into my house!! She reckoned she was here for an inspection (which I'm supposed to have every 3 months but they never sort out in advance and then send a letter saying it's overdue, which I only got the beginning of this week, asking me to make an appt) that they'd "sent a letter" about- which I've never received- and that it says in the letter that if I'm not home they can let themselves in!! I was still in bed (on the living room floor due to ankle) and I honestly think that if I'd been sleeping upstairs I wouldn't've heard her til she was like IN my room! She then asked me if she could still do the inspection! And then tried rearranging the appointment with me, whilst she's still got one foot in my hall and I'm still in pjamas kneeling up on my bed in shock! I was like NO, GET OUT! Then she made some jibe about her hand delivering the next letter, then they know I've got it!! Sarcy cow!

And, Ugh, I hate feeling like someone could just come in whenever they like.:(

BZ thats terrible!!! Although I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that they cannot legally gain access to the property without your permission, if they do they are breaking the tenancy agreement (unless it states in the agreement that they can) and the law! Hope your ok and it hasn't stressed you out too much xxx

    Hello folks,

Sorry, long time no see - working full time means my life is work, and nothing but work right now. Glad to see you've found a new home.

BZ, they don't have any right to do that. Might a stroppy call through to the estate agent be in order? At least that way you can make an appointment at a time that suits you...

Life with me - well I've had 4 months of black outs and falling over - I've seen the neurologist, who said he thinks it's a heart problem, and I've an appointment with a cardiologist next month. I'm also still waiting for the DLA appeal - I phoned yesterday and they think it'll be January - a full year from putting in my application! It's a bit worrying - I reduce my hours to 80% in Jan, and if I don't get DLA things are going to be really, really, really tight. I'm fully expecting to get turned down. I have a letter from my GP, a statement from me, a letter from my sister. My CAB advisor said that my own statement and my sister's were the best she's ever seen. Even so, I don't reckon it's enough evidence, and I can't get any more... But I just have to wait.

Anyhow, I'm just saying hello really. I hope everyone's having a reasonable day...

    E.

Jo nice to see you. Black-outs don't sound so good. You look after yourself, y'hear?

BZ it just occurred to me - what if the letting agency woman had come in while you and DH were..... um.... how to put this delicately...... er.... busy?:eek::eek:
Well, Mr LW and I don't have regular hours for such things....;)

Molly is under the coffee table dreaming; her paws are twitching and she's making little high-pitched "oof, oof" noises.:o:D

I cba with the hysterics with the estate agent...I'm just gonna send hubby down to their offices tomorrow ;) I've texted my landlord about it and told him I'm furious too. We'll see what he does.
Does anyone else think that an inspection every 3 months is a tad excessive?

    You ok jaz?

I'm okay thanks! Thanks for asking, I appreciate it. I had to wait to be sent a power cord, then finally got my laptop back and we had power cuts the last two nights running!!

That's awful about the letting agency. When I was a student our letting agency would just let themselves in, as they didn't give a cr*p about the law when it came to students. At home though, there is NO WAY we would allow it, except pre-arranged repairs. I would put a complaint in. I would hate the idea of someone waltzing in when I wasn't dressed, or the house wasn't tidy!

Yes, very! We've been here three years in March, and only had one inspection!

Had a bit of good news. My disability woman at the uni sent me an email, I have a meeting on Monday with my tutor to sort out arrangements due to my BPD, and I've got a letter coming saying I can go ahead with my DSA needs allowance, and I don't have to go far for it!

    Hi Suep, you ok?

I've been over to MIL's today to watch the wedding video with her and show her the wedding photos we've had off family so far. DH is now tidying up and hoovering the bedroom to move the mattress back up there and sleep up there from now on. I can only try...:o Will be good to have a proper bedroom and a proper living room again, but the stairs with definitely be a struggle. And the door to the bathroom is at the top of the stairs, which freaks me out cos I don't want my crutch to slip on the top step and take me tumbling down them...not least because they're sort of corkscrew shaped...
