Oh no, poor Linda! Was that only 2 votes from judges, or from the public? Don't worry if you can't remember - just curious!

Right I'm off to bed. My pain levels are rather ridiculous today after all the driving I did yesterday, so am looking forward to sleep!

Hope everyone gets some relief from their various aches and pains tonight. :)

    Goodnight!

  • The judges, in the dance off. She got 2, and the other couple got 2, but Linda got hers first. Len chose her to go though...its a shame, she seemed to be really enjoying it.
Sleep well! I should go to bed too but I'm so used to boyfriend being awake until 3am that I won't be able to sleep til then. Hope you feel better tomorrow!

Sorry dude, am I really that gloomy? I've never had such bad+incessant pain in my life tho, and I'm honestly struggling this time.:(
You're right tho, I did go into overdraft on the run up to the wedding, and on the honeymoon if I'm honest, and I'm paying for it now with flares on top of everything else. It's gonna take months to recover from, if I'm really honest, but it was worth it :D

You made me grin with your 3wpm!:rotfl:

I'm not ticking you off  I know you are struggling and am glad you are telling us, rather than just lurking. I should hope it was worth it :D When is he due back from work?

You mentioned your step dogs catching spiders. We had a dog years ago who used to catch the frogs out of the pond, then walk round with the back legs hanging out of her mouth. Gross didn't come close :rotfl:

  • My boyfriends dog used to sit next to the pond and eat the flies that came to land on the lillies. He'd have a mouthful, and carry them round with him, eating them slowly. It was okay until he forgot he had them, fell asleep and dribbled them all over the sofa!
He eats butterflies and moths, too. But not spiders, which I'd find really useful :P
Frogs, though?! Ewww..our cats used to bring them in and hide them behind the TV, where they would scream loudly all day until one of them took it back out or the dog killed it. Yucky!

I know that feeling. Hubby's used to manage pubs and used to be regularly home at that time. These days it's "only" 2 or 3 times a week...

Cheers dude. I'm trying. I had a bit of a slump this arvo and am trying to crawl back up. Seems my leg and ankle ache more at night (for some reason? It's not like I've been using it?) so I'm very glad to say that DH is now home :D Got home about 15mins ago, his boss lady took pity on me :D He's just done me a hot water bottle (for the leg) so hoping it helps. Might have to get him to get me the ice pack shortly too (when he's eaten my left over dominos ;)) and perhaps resort to another painkiller before it gets beyond the point that I can deal with it even slightly sanely...

It's a good job DH isn't reading this! He has somewhat of a froggy/toady phobia! My ex-stepdog (you keeping up here? ;)) used to do that...or at least one of the 4 ex-stepcats used to bring frogs and hedgehogs in and the ex-stepdog (mahoosive white Alsation) used to treat them like puppies! He shielded the hedgehog infront of him with his paws and bark and snarl at you if you went anywhere near him/it!

What a lovely conversation you're all having about dogs eating things! Will gloss over that. ;)

Has everyone heard about the passing of Stephen Gately from Boyzone? He was only 33, I can't believe it. Apparently he went to sleep and never woke up again - so it makes me wonder if it was that sudden adult death syndrome? What sad news. :(

  • God, having a nightmare with money today!
Student loans paid me the exact amount needed for rent, because they left out my bursary/scholarship (an error, apparantly, that hasn't been fixed).
I paid £1,000 towards rent (it's £2165) because I couldn't afford anything else, I need a computer to work on (its physically impossible for me to write) storage up here, and money to live off until they bother to sort this out. I needed loads of books, etc too.

Now Barclays have given £500 to someone?! They've admitted its an error, but 'it could take a few weeks to resolve'.

I need to make some money fast :( I'm so stressed.

I assume you are at university, as you are getting student loans.

Have you applied for a disabled students grant? If you have physical problems, or dyslexia it can fund a computer. It's not a short term solution, as it does take awhile to happen.

For a more immediate solution – they often have a discretionary hardship fund for issues like this. I would print out your bank statement showing your lack of money, make a list of all your incomings and outgoings, and go to the financial office. At my uni, you filled out an application and explained what the issue was, and they took it on a case by case basis. Particularly list outgoings like medication, as obviously they are essential.

Otherwise, I’m sure my uni also had an emergency loan for delayed loans and that kind of thing – so you could also look into that. You just then paid it back when you got your loan.

Is the rent to student accommdation? They are very much used to issues with student loans. I would write a letter/email explaining that you haven't received the amount you're due, and will pay the rest as soon as you get it. They are usually pretty understanding. It's just good to put things in writing, and keep a copy for yourself.

Sorry if all of this is obvious, but just wanted to share some suggestions.

^ ^ ^ Wot she said. With knobs on and a tartan ribbon. BZ, Saucy, Sharon and anyone else who's been going through a lot of pain lately, I hope today is a better one. :(I feel so helpless, that I can't do anything for any of you.

I have to admit, the name didn't mean anything to me, but how awful to think of someone that age just going like that.:(

I've been reading in the paper that the Yule/Xmas post may be totally disrupted by postal strikes. Methinks there'll be a lot of e-cards sent this year. Luckily for us, we don't do presents. We stopped a few years back when Mr LW was out of work and we were well skint, and have carefully never started again.;)

Got to get Mr LW to the barber on Tuesday (he's on early shift that day and working from home). He's beginning to look like a music teacher!:D

And after that random and totally irrelevant thought, I shall shut up now.:D

I had such a bad nights sleep. :( I had to drive for two hours on Friday, and my muscles are still spasming because of it. And it was all for nothing in the end.

So I'm exhausted and aching all over.

Has anyone ever tried ibuprofen in gel form? I bought some today and have just put it on. Just curious to whether it actually works.
