Bonce still a bit tender, but getting there, thanks. Had ants in me pants today so got lots of frustrating little jobs done.
Thanks, we had a lovely day. After the wolves, we went to one of the pubs we like for a swift half (or three) and there were several dogs in the bar; then home for a bottle of champagne and "Stardust" on DVD.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Cool....that's where we went for our honeymoon...even though we live in Scotland!
If anyone wants a fab cottage google "Hendersyde" near Kelso. Absolutely magic.
Our flipping fridge freezer broke down....sigh....so we have lots of food to finish up. Yay!Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0 -

Ooh, I've just been referred to Hydrotherapy and was curious to what happens during it? I've been to a hydro pool at a spa, is it like that? Someone said something about someone getting in with you - is that the case? What do they do? Also how deep is the pool? I'm tall (5'11) and get very uncomfortable if my neck/upper back is out the water. It gets cold and painful. I assume it won't be that deep though?

Thank you. Just that there is a member list on the very first page on this thread, and I didn't know if you had to join first. I understand that with other threads, but they don't usually have a members list. Sorry if I misunderstood."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
i didnt even know/remember that that was there.....many of those listed members do not seem to post here any more.
sorry, i may be being a little paranoid and was unfairly reading more into your question than i should have done, thank you for explaining0 -
Jaza Hydro is held in a big swimming pool where the water is blood temperature so it's like stepping into a big warm bath. A physio will assess you in the pol and decide what exercises may help you along with aids such as floats, bats etc. Some are just moving your arms around while holding the bats against the resistance of the water. It is very tiring, but lovely to be able to move freely without weight bearing. You tend to get quite de-hydrated, so make sure you drink lots afterwards and be prepared for a heavy feeling of weight when you do get out of the pool.
The first time I went there were about 6 people and 3 physios between us. We got like a little club as it was the same people each time and we would get together for a coffee sometimes afterwards. I think you'll really enjoy it apart from it doing you good.
As a recent newcomer to this thread I didn't know there was a members list on the first page! Do stick around - we like having you here.
lw That sounds like a perfect celebration day. Bet you are tired now though.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Eek, didn't know there would be other people! Thanks for the info though, now I know what to expect. I hope I get some nice people with me. So it's a bit like deep water exercise in a warm pool - sounds good!
I love swimming, but our local pool has had to shut down all summer for repairs, and they don't expect it to reopen until the end of October because they found aspestos, grr! I wish there was more than one pool around here.
I think I have quite the wait for hydro though - at least another few months. And I had to wait months to see the physio in the first place - waste of time! He just referred me for hydro, and seemed perplexed at treating pain in more than one area.
I did write a letter and complain, and am now waiting to see another physio."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Jazabelle you became a member by joining in
, we started off getting club numbers but it sorta fell by the wayside - so the only membership requirement is to join in and have fun! (oh and if you can help keep the animal bowls full and take your turn in the kitchen that would be good too :rotfl:)

Dragon I didn't know about the kitchen duty! I'm happy to do the litter trays instead if that will do?
lw I've sent Dad away in sulks coz I get fed up with him waking me early. His wife is out for the day on Wednesday so I'll take him out for lunch so he's not on his own the whole time.
