Okay another week and another chance to start over LOL - my ankles are swelling, my tum hurts and I want chocolate :rolleyes:
Instead though I am going to have a virtual mixed cheese quiche with masses of salad and a chilled glass (or several!) of Vouvray whilst sat on the patio/deck area watching the punts and the wildlife
There are cakes and quiche of various types available - oh and the wine is nicely chilled (hmm and is that a summer punch I see being made?)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Cafe seems to have been very quiet, hope everyone is well and enjoying better health. Perhaps everybody has been spring cleaning. The cafe has been refurbished and is ready for business.0

Ye Gods and Little Fishes (waits for the echo to stop), hmm nothing else for it - time to grab a duster and get this place back into shape - in the meantime I'll stick some jacket potatoes in the oven for a quick lunch! (drat had better get that pot of veggie chilli on the go as well!), hmm just time to dash out and get the makings for that, and a salad, and some tea, coffee, milk, wine (oops sorry did I say that last one out loud!
) - hmm feels a bit damp as well - better light a fire and warm the place through!

Horace saunters in...looking sheepish
Hi Dragon..I thought the old place had closed..the last time I came in, it was like tumbleweed passing through:rolleyes:
Life has been busy for me since I quit the dole:eek: I spend my time networking and trying to sort out stuff like working tax credits - I confused them by saying that I was disabled but I am not getting DLA:rolleyes: I cannot get DLA because I can plan and cook a meal according to the DWP and therefore I don't need any help (stuff the cleaning which gets left until I can actually see the dust:eek:) I am trying to get an exemption for Class 2 NI as well plus I have been getting myself some professional indemnity insurance - yet more expense. I seem to be paying out more than I am getting in at the mo:rolleyes:
Maybe I will just sit awhile with a mug of hot chocolate and ponder on life the unverse and everything:rolleyes:0 -

Right stage one - clean the rest of the cafe off, freshen up dog/cat baskets, make a full English Breakfast (veggie options available on request!), due to the fact it is cold, wet and miserable here (after a glorious weekend as well!), lunches will be based around soup and warm, freshly baked bread.
The coffee machine is primed and there is some red wine simmering with some spices for mulled wine - any takers?Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Its a bit early for wine but I will have a bacon buttie and a mug of builder's tea:D
The sun is out here today which is a big improvement on yesterday when it didnt appear at all:rolleyes: I am trying to do some work and am trying to write a letter - I thought I might take David Cameron's offer up and apply to become an MP:eek: My reasoning, I care about people and the country, I have overcome adversity and more importantly I know how to budget and keep within my means:D0 -
Ooooh .. nice clean cafe again! Looks great Dragon.
I stopped by in the cafe on saturday, wrote a blurb ........ and didn't realise I'd tried posting past the forum shut-down time!
I've been more of a lurker of late on the forums after burning out/crashing a couple of months ago. Life has been full of high-stress factor things coming one after another since turn of the year and my poor ol' body went on shut down. It's been a wake up call and tough lesson in not only adding the "No" word to my vocabulary, but also in using it. I also realised I knew nothing about my illness really and had kind of done the "thanks for the label ... let's get on with life" thing and tried to carry on as usual - I wasn't going to let it get in the way if you see what I mean - how daft????!!!!!.
Still, summer's on it's way, the swifts and swallows are back, the sun is shining ... and I'm quitting smoking, so life's going on, just more sedately from now on. On day 2, so early days yet but am determined to make it for good this time.
Think I'll sit on the patio with a long brandy and coke to watch the birds with their fleglings.0 -

One bacon butty and seriously large mug of tea coming your way and yes become an MP after all we know about adversity and what have you - more than any of the spongers in power at the moment do! (amazing how none of them are getting charged with fraud isn't it?!!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup
