The (not so old) Crocks Cafe

Afternoon all. Am enjoying the springlike weather, despite an immune system that gives me the symptoms of flu every five minutes...! Am chugging down lemsip instead of tea. That seems to help!
Am enjoying M.E.'s virtual handbell concert and altocumulus's baked fare. You do provide well for your cafe members.Only in our dreams are we free. The rest of the time we need wages.

He felt that his whole life was some kind of dream and he sometimes wondered whose it was and whether they were enjoying it.

As it's gone all overcast and cold in the Land of the Concrete Cows, I've come to enjoy the virtual sunshine on the cafe verandah.
I think a large vodka & tonic with ice & lemon is in order.;):beer:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
We have just played handbells at a wedding, which was well received as the couple are singers and their choir also sang brilliantly. We raced off to a cafe afterwards and had coffee and cake... so... in the virtual cafe I'm offering "jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" "Trumpet Voluntary" and "Yorshire Bells" to accompany the virtual (but delicious) coffee and cake.
For those who cannot have chocolate I have ordered the largest virtual chocolate egg you have ever seen. Plenty enough for everybody to come in the cafe and enjoy a good nibble.0 -
Looks as though I've been alone in the cafe over Easter.
Probably not noticed people coming in for a quiet cup of coffee and hot cross bun.
Watching the rain today, will the seedling explode into life?
Hope everyone is well

Lots of rain in Milton Keynes today; I'm glad I got Mr LW to cut the grass last night - I was in danger of getting lost if I tried to get to the bottom of the garden.
Kettle's on - nice cup of tea anyone? If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Ooh if that cuppa is still going I'll take one! Sorry I haven't been around I was in too much pain and I sorta just went back into my Dragon's Lair and whimpered a lot!
It persisted it down here for the last couple of day and it has got cooler again  - so spicy soup and quick spicy stir fry with noodles or rice is the order of the day (oh and can some one just nip out the back - I think I hear the van arriving with cakes and pastries for a full blown afternoon tea!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

*enters with trolley laden with cakes and pastries*
Here we are, all ready for afternoon tea.
I'll take some of that soup - weather in MK is what the weather-men call mizzle, and it's making me feel cold just looking out at it!
Hope you're feeling a bit better Dragon.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Ah excellent! Now where are those smart tiered cake stands?, and the posh linens?, oooh and lavender scented tea-lights!
Here we are, all ready for afternoon tea.
Just need to make some tea sandwiches (smoked salmon, ham, cucumber, cream cheese and wafer think beef I think!)

Havent been in for a while - i have been a busy little bee. I am coming towards the end of my test trading period and I will be coming off the dole despite having no customers yet:j (I must be mad).
Am feeling kind of cross today as the eejits who live in one of the houses on the otherside of the waste land have had the tree surgeons in to chop down three poplar trees and judging by the size of the trunks I would say they were about 200 years old:mad: None of them had preservation orders on them and I couldnt protect them:mad::mad: Now my view from my living room is boring as there are 3 less trees to look at and now I am worried about the bloomin' owl that has taken up residence - where is he going to roost and too whit whoo all night?
A hot choc with a flake and marshmallows and a huge slice of victoria sponge are in order I think *sigh*.
Hope all is well with everyone?0
