I purchased £42 on amazon last week via ipoints tried putting in super saver delivery wouldnt work ending up paying £16 postage for books (only lightweight) and DVD set

This sounds like nonsense to me - it seems to me like when you change the delivery type it assigns you a new delivery date - I think you must have been extremely fortuitous to get an earlier date than before!

worked for me i think... was meant to be sent out on the 19th and now has been changed to the 17th!!

My delivery due to be 4 jan 06 it now says by 24 dec 2005 !! That will be fantastic if it works!!!

mine said it would not be delivered until after christmas (30th dec - 9 Jan) and it was dispatched today, brilliant, cos it means that I do not have to buy a stand in present.

I have placed two orders recently and have used the method the OP mentioned. Both of my orders had their delivery estimates brought forward and instead of an estimated delivery date of 21st-23rd, I received one today and the other one was despatched Wednesday, so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

worked for me brought delivery date to the original expected dispatch date. nice!

So pleased - it just worked for me... well, I hope so - it brought delivery dates forward from 24 Dec (eek - pushing it!) to 21st Dec (can wrap prezzies with time to spare!)
