Good morning, no, sorry, afternoon to everyone! I've been really busy with the housework. I'm going away on Sunday to stay with my lovely Mum until Friday and I wanted to make sure the house is all organised because DH will be working all week and won't have time to do too much. I've made a couple of pasta meals to put in the freezer and I am going to make some stew tomorrow. We'll have some for dinner and there'll be enough for a couple of meals for him during the week. As long as there is also plenty of bacon and eggs, he'll survive. I've also been batch-baking bread and there is now enough in the freezer for him for the week.
Dinner tonight is cod with some oven chips - our only chips of the week so not too extravagant - and I shall do them with Remoska'd tomatoes and mushrooms. Pudding will be the rest of the plum and apple crumble I made yesterday. My Mum says she has loads of windfall apples for me to bring back so thanks, LameWolf, for the wine recipe. I shall get that going when I come back.
I have a suitcase half full with my knitting to take away with me - I should be able to get loads done while I am away. I know my Mum will try and spoil me so I'll probably have loads of knitting time.
Bootsalebabe - I'm thinking of you and your DD today.
Dannahaz - great to see you posting!
Welcome to all the newbies.
Beautiful weather here today; sunny and breezy. I've already got the sheets dry and the second load is on the line now.
See you all later.

my pizza dough seems to be proving nicely - I'm very happy as I made it by hand not in the BM. looks like I can put the BM on freecycle and clear a big bit of cupboard space!weaving through the chaos...0

Good afternoon! Have just enjoyed a hm chilli and rice from the freezer, perhaps I should've had something else as it's mexican for tea tonight lol! Ah well, I shall be in the mood already!
My ride this morning was lovely, the sun came out and the Somerset Levels were beautiful. My haircut was good as always, though I really don't enjoy it cos I always wonder what might go wrong!
Went to Morries with a list of lock n lock sizes I need, got them all and am going to have a lovely time popping all my storecupboard goodies in them later. Have sorted out the kitchen and at least I can move in there now, well a bit anyway! Met a lovely old lady in there who was telling me how she bulked everything out with oats, she was surprised when I said I did too! Had a lovely OS chat!
Got a couple of other bargains in there, Birds Eye peas 400g are 40p a pack, limited to 2 per person though I didn't see a sign, the checkout lady told me, and let me put through bag 3 and 4 after my main shop! Also twilight after dinner mints are on bogof - shall put them away for Christmas, honest!
Candy, hugs to you and your dad, Lamewolf, a kick or hug as you prefer! Nice to see you again though. Sybil, welcome back, hope you and lb feel better soon. And whoever posted the wine recipe, ooh I like apple wine, think I might have a try of that one! Wave to boodle and hug to wannabesybil and lamewolf.
Just about to do some roast potatoes in the moski to have with chicken and green beans later.
Made some hobnobs in the ordinary oven and DH who does not like sweet things has just tried one and said it is all right! From him that is high praise especially as he just asked if he could have another one!!!!:j
Wonder what my rather picky 14 year old DD will make of them?"This site is addictive!"

Just wanted to bob in and say afternoon to all before I dash off for the beans... I have got 3 loads of washing done today because the weather is lovely. Breezey and sunny , perfect for getting the drying done so I wipped the kitchen curtains down and they are now blowing on the line! Been for a lovely walk with my doggies and everything has that lovely autum smell. The leaves are piling up everywhere and I bet they will be all gone in a couple of weeks. BM finished just as I got back and the kitchen smelled lovely....its more noticable when youve been out dont you think!?
Anyway hugs to all fellow osers and enjoy this lovely day xxJAN GC- £155.77 out of £200

I hope this is OS enough for me to put a personal bit? Not posted for a couple of days because I lost my nerve. Struggling to do ANYTHING, let alone OS at present as I am in the grip of a seriously black depression. Messages of encouragement/kicks up the bum welcomed. If it's a kick, please make it a gentle one.
Thanks for the recipe, LameWolf. No kick from me, just kind thoughts coming your way. Just take time out for yourself; don't try and do anything that's a struggle. That can wait until you feel up to it.

I've just sorted out my larder and reorganised it so all my dry goods and baking bits have a shelf all to themselves. It looks so good I keep having to look at it. It's freed up room for the huge box of PG Tips I bought at our local Somerfield (part of the filling station so I was buying petrol at the time). I got 340 teabags for £3.39, half price! More non-MSE was the huge bar of Cadbury's Turkish Delight for just £1. Far too tempting!
Oh, well, back to doing a freezer inventory before planning my food shopping for tomorrow. I've organised DH so well for when I'm away that I hope I can do the following week's shopping to save having to do it when I come back. The intention is to spend only one week's money and get two week's worth of food!
See you later.

...... our library is open all day saturday and till 8pm weekdays
Some of ours are open on Sundays, which would have my former County-librarian mother turning in her grave (if we hadn't had her cremated
). My 3 brothers & I all started our working lives as Saturday staff shelving & stamping books. 0 -
Hi everyone
I'm really struggling to be OS at the moment. Starting student life, and just buying a few things as i need them seems so much easier, although i know it really isnt.
We don't have a freezer here, and very little storage, so keeping food for long is difficult. Can't wait til Christmas when my mum is getting me a magimix blender thingy, i can start really baking and making soup again (i hate mixing by hand and lumpy soup
)
Hope everyone is doing better than I am at the moment xxChifundo Uzuri Siochain"All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost" - JRR Tolkien~
