I know exactly where Mr B is coming from! I was ( still am ) always doing that with punishments.
Half the time I would be p'd that the kids had upset Mrs P and that would make it seem worse.........so I would issue sentence, Mrs P would take black hanky off my head and tell me that I was overreacting, I would stomp off 'I dont know why I bother etc etc etc.
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

DD reminded me that she was late home one evening (we were going for an important outing) and I yelled at her that she wouldn't be allowed out for a month as she was so disrespectful of my time. :o

She did what she usually did, kept quiet and obedient and I forgot within hours what I had banned her from :rotfl: :rotfl: or even that I had been angry :o

I know he always does it and it is out of concern and worry, not for any other reason. It is just a case of all of us getting a balance and being able to talk stuff through.
I had already read the riot act and she was in tears, so he sort of took the opportunity to add to it and he had already had his say. We both need to agree on stuff. I come from the angle that she has a lot on her plate with diabetes and stuff, she has to learn to use her voice with her mates and not be dragged into things she doesn't want to be dragged into.
Funnily enough i didn't have a go at him for it,( i told him to think about it all from her point of view as well) just want things to be right.

That's exatly what my eldest daughter used to do..which is why we are learning how not to get on bad sides and keep the peace. I sort of work along the lines of Catholic guilt trips.:o

Now then Mr B, you just go and stand in the corner and think about what you have done!;)

Nah, i just explain about all the stuff that went on in the Park and how worried i would be if anyone i knew was there after dark. :o:o It worked as in all the tale came out about how worried she had been and was just going along with everyone else. Thankful it was all ok in the end..just have to keep the safety aspect in head at all times. And then made her stand in the corner:rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh dear! Laughing at the jokes, and thinking back to my own teenage years ... anybody else doing that? I had horrendous arguments with my mum, but not cos of what I was doing - I'm afraid I was a really good liar, and she never had a clue what sort of thing I was up to (and that *did* include parks in the dark, I'm afraid - tho it was with my boyfriend of the time :o).

    I'll get my coat.:o
