Please see this note taken off Desi's website

She states " Honesty Integrity Transparency"

Not quite what we have got.

Can we ask her how much more money she needs to finish the developments

Is the Jag referred to here a UK solicitor who works for a council and advertised his services here on this forum about six months ago?

    This one, maybe? http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor/view=solicitordetails.law?id=15910
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It is the same person. He has been advising the group on the legal approach and we have paid him money for the case. He was working with another law company called Thompson lilley and although we have lost the case we are getting mixed reasons as to why. I also heard we have to pay the other persons legal costs. Will we have to pay that? as the only reason we got involved is because Jag told us to. I am really worried as I have no money and don't want to lost my house

I thought he works for Birmingham council? Was he doing this work on the side? Do the Council know that/ did they give permission for that?

I don't know about the legal case, so I have no idea about that. Was the case brought in your names personally or through a limited company?

I'm a bit shocked to hear that you lost your case, though. Did you pay Jag much, and what advice on the prospects for the case did you get from your lawyers?

He does work for Birmingham Council. I'm not sure if the council know but he says he spent hours of time on the case so I'm sure he was using taxpayers time ie worktime to do this.
The case was brought in the name of the Bulgarian developers and he advised us to support them as he is friendly with the Bulgarian owner.

We paid the money to an account controlled by Stuart and Susanne but they have not said how the money was spent. In fact they have not told us much at all other than the case was lost. I understand we were ordered to pay costs as well. Someone mentioned Champerty but I'm not sure what this is although it sounds like we may have to pay these costs.

Do you reckon it is worth complaining to the council?

I have no idea about what's gone on, so can't advise you. There's no reason to believe that Jag did the work in Council-paid time, though. I am a bit perplexed about taking on a solicitor who is friendly with one of the major players in this case. Wasn't there a potential conflict of interest?

Usually, in these group actions, there's a steering committee of claimants that oversee the solicitors. You didn't have that?

As to complaining to the Council, it might be worth a try, as he used his position at the council to induce people to take him on. There's a post on this forum where he uses that as part of his credentials.

Were you told in writing that if you lost the case in court, that you might have to pay the other sides costs?
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I been chipping into this discussion for some time now, and must say... can summarise whats happened?

You all chipped in for court costs as a group and you lost? So you have to pay the fees?

This is like a game of cluedo... whooodunnit!? ;O

I know im being a bit sly and laughing a bit because its not my money/home... but the risk vs reward with these properties were better than other uk projects.

House costs say 50k... as opposed to 200k in england.... with reward being same... whats the catch? its more risky as you dont A; speak bulgarian, B: know about bulgarian law, C: wary of local (UK) or foreign (bulgarian) scams like this.

Either way sonmeone fiddled the money, and screwed you all over.... I hope it gets sorted but it seems you guys are stuck between a rock and a hard place... or limbo etc.
