I can get the blue screen to appear but when I then try and press menu button, nothing happens. There are four blanks again on PVR display.

TV is a Daewoo and is at least 10 years old. Could try it on main TV which is Hitachi or Toshiba later on today but have to go out now to my French class. Really appreciate all your help you people, appreciate it's some time since most of you did this.

Ah, merci, blue screen is a good sign. Does it say anything on the blue screen?
  • When four dashes are on PVR I can get a bluish blank AV channel.

  • It says 09 and four dashes in left corner and a box with an arrow in it in the right. Must go now, a bientot for now.

    Merci Molly,

Being an older tv then it most probably will not have RGB, so trying the pvr on the main TV may be the best way forward.
    GTG good luck.

The other evening I had a new and very different problem, the picture from the PVR was rolling left to right (or R to L can't remember) as opposed to old Tv's that roll up and down. It was definitly only the digi signal and stopped later. I have also noiticed the speech/sound out of step from time to time. Any body else got a rolling picture?

Most "rolling picture" type issues seem to go away by making sure the SCART cable is pushed fully home each end, or by trying a different SCART cable.

The picture/sound out of step seems to be side-effect of localised interference (firdges, freezers, motorbikes, central heating etc) and the PVR not recovering properly. Usually pressing "pause live TV" then "stop" will re-sync the two. Hopefully it'll be fixed in some future software rev.
  • Bonjour again. Have taken it downstairs to main TV but it is still doing the same and it is very confusing as I have a sky box, a Sony DVD recorder and the connections for them too, so wasn't sure what to plug in where. I put the scart from the PVR to the one in the TV but the aerial was a tricky one as there seems to be one going into the Sky box and also the TV!!! I think I ought to buy a new TV for upstairs as I don't want to lose any of the set up downstairs at the moment. It works - and I am worried about messing with it as it is an essential part of family harmony!

Hi Molly, Trying it downstairs was a possible way to get it working for upstairs.

It may still be a faulty unit though

Anyway dont disturb your normal set up to much, take the aerial lead from the TV and stick it in the PVR, and the Scart from the PVR to the TV, but this needs to be a RGB enabled scart socket. If you have a hand book for the TV it might tell you, it is probably the one normally from the Sky box. If I am right then you should get writing on the TV screen as in the PVR handbook. Do a program/channel search, then set the PVR TV Out to composite video (CVBS) as in settings instructions mentioned before. It should then work upstairs without the need to get a new portable, if not then it is probaby a dead Parrot, sorry PVR, like wot mine is.

PS Make and model of big TV might help us help you. Ta

Good luck as I have to go out, the management says I waste too much time on here.

Lorian, The 1.2 update is delayed becaus the Winter Hill sound prob is still around.
