If you are happy not to watch analogue TV anymore from now on (most people dont I guess) just unplug the aerial cable from the back of the TV (or Skybox) and plug it into the PVR.

Plug the SCART lead from the PVR into the telly, switch it on, select "video-in" on the TV and you're done.

If you want to be able to use the SKY digibox AND the PVR at the same time using SCARTs and don't have two SCART sockets on the TV then you'll need to "cascade" them together using the 2nd SCART on the PVR.

Many thanks to you too Lorian. I am trying to connect the small tv in bedroom and not main tv. There is aerial socket in bedroom but tv only has one scart socket so will have to "cascade" but not sure what you mean by this. I get another scart lead and plug two together and both ends into PVR? Is that what you mean? Thanks again for info.

Sorry, my post was confusing. I shouldn't type while talking to people!

In the bedroom do you have a Sky box or Video or DVD player already?

Does the TV in the bedroom have a lead to the wall to the main house aerial?
  • Hi again. No skybox, dvd or video but yes the socket is in the wall and I presume it connects to main house aerial although not tried it before. I still have sky in the lounge but wanted to use the Aldi pvr to record programmes that I could watch at some later time. HTH and again many thanks.

Sorry, In my original post I thought you were replacing Sky with it.

You will just need to get an aerial cable to go from the wall to the PVR and use the SCART cable (supplied) from the PVR101 to the TV.

As you say this does assume the socket on the wall is connected to the aerial, and the existing aerial is adequate!
  • Great. Sounds very straightforward - just hope not got a dodgy one!!

Has anyone tried and succeeded )or failed) to get their PVR101 working with a one-for-all remote control. Not a learning one, I know they should work.

If so can you please post up the model of remote and the code used to get it working. thanks!

I seem to remember from a few weeks ago someone saying they had found the ribbon cable plug to the hard drive was not pushed right home on their unit. Worth a look if you feel like opening your box up.

I had a new one today. I had recorded a programme on Tuesday from ITV (Winter Hill) and came to watch it today. The playback had no sound so I assumed it had not recorded any as it was from Winter Hill. However after a shutdown and reboot the recording did play back with sound. That was the first time it had happened though so could be a one off.

just been away for a couple of days and left the timer (ON STANDBY)to record a daily repeat and 3 other programs and none of them have recorded but they have disappeared from the timer list. I suppose I will have to leave it on in future!!??

Don't forget the daily repeats only repeat for 7 days then stop.
