Fine for those who are already members of DigitalSpy, but if you hadn't already registered then you have to wait for approval before you can even post in the forums!0 -
I've downloaded too. I am impressed that they have released this update so quickly. I can now get most channels. Not all, but then I do have an awful ariel. By the way, you have to switch the machine on and off I think to get the new software working.0

I have one of these boxes and have had all the problems everyone else has had. However, when checking my aerial connection at the back of the box I noticed that there is an electric current in the case itself i.e. when I had hold of the metal co-ax aerial plug and touched the case I could feel tingling on my skin, especially from the cover screws on the side of the case. It isn't particularly harsh, it's like a pins and needles sort of feeling, but is definately there. Is this dangerous? I have tried calling the helpline but just get an engaged tone every time.

Hmmm. I'n not sure if I'm comforted by any of that or if I now feel worse about it. I'm going to continue ringing the helpline, hopefully now there has been the upgrade there will be less demand on their phones and I will get through.

So far, since the Firmware update, everything is working OK. I have tried recording, both timer and instant, and playing back one recording while recording at the same time. Also deleted a couple of recordings, keeping 2 others and then rebooting. The correct recordings are still there. No sound issues or the 'No signal' problem. So far so good.

To Brockyman: you won't get anywhere I'm afraid. Try it with a VCR instead of the PVR and you will experience the same thing. It's inherent.
By the way, to all people who can't spell aerial - "ariel" is a washing powder!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

On 1.1 now, recorded a couple of things, latest trial is recording from standby, recording light is on and my fingers are crossed.
I have had a blank screen once when selecting a channel, but only had to go up and then back down a channel to get it back. I suspect this is a lot to do with DVB (Freeview) transmissions; an old Panasonic box I got my Mum used to do this a lot as well as lock up, my current Thomson is much better.
I really don't want to take this bargain back, so I do hope all is well and I'm sorry to hear others are still suffering, though a lot less than before... maybe.0
