returned mine after finding out from the helpline that subtitles are NOT recorded as part of manufactuters design!!!
whats the point of using a device where you can view subtitles but not recording them!
I'll soon get the Humax which should record subtitles as well (any recommendation of any PVR that can do this? - thx)0 -
Anyone else had this problem. I downloaded the update manually but it doesn't seem to install. I put it in standby. Once it asked me if I wanted to install the update, said yes but after it rebooted again, the menu still shows 1.0.0

Managed to upgrade mine manually this morning. All going well untill about ten minutes ago - Have started getting the "no signal" message again.0

IIRC It says something like "press OK to cancel the upgrade", so maybe you cancelled it by accident? When it's finished it automatically reboots the box.0 -
Did the upgrade this morning.
Got the "No sound on ITV" problem fairly soon afterwards.
Recently had the "No Signal" fault too.
Oh dear, not much improvement then really, except it is definately quicker to scroll up and down the channells now.0 -
All these no signal reports - is it your aerials thats the problem?
I get no signal sometimes but I know for a fact that the aerial its running off is rubbish - I could hardly get a normal tv picture, especially channel Five0 -
If you switch to Channel 5 first and then press "3" to go straight to ITV do you get sound?GrahamS wrote:Got the "No sound on ITV" problem fairly soon afterwards.
No, I'm about 10Km from the transmitter and have a 52 element aerial pointing at it, fed on CT100.scoobie wrote:All these no signal reports - is it your aerials thats the problem?0 -
Mine did not reboot automatically just went back to BBC1. I checked the Firmware version (1.1) then rebooted manually. Still working OK.Lorian wrote:When it's finished it automatically reboots the box.
Why would you need a 52 element aerial when you are only 10Km from the transmitter? I presume it is wideband?Lorian wrote:No, I'm about 10Km from the transmitter and have a 52 element aerial pointing at it, fed on CT100.

Yeah, us too, and it's annoying that the timeshift workaround doesn't seem to work any more. If recordings aren't lost, though, that was the main problem here; rebooting is all right as long as it's not /too/ often...0
