Most of the 'Signal boosters' available on the high street are not good enough for Digital TV as they are not wideband. I could not get all channels reliably until I changed to a good quality. low noise wideband amplifier. Some of the 'No Signal' problems could be as a result of using a booster. It is also very likely that some of the 'No Signal' messages are due to problems with the PVR.

I'm working on the assumption that somethings getting worse following a software upgrade is actually a positive sign. It suggests that the problems are with the software which is easier to distribute fixes for than the hardware. Hence my (current) decision to stick with it. And I can't see myself paying almost twice as much for the nearest equivalent box when it looks so ugly in comparison with this one!0

I think they did a good job with the update given that it came pretty soon after problems were reported.. Now they have had a bit more time to look at it im sure there will a future update to fix any remaing problems..
Im pretty happy with mine at the moment, the clock no longer freezes for one...
I treated mine like you do when you install something on your pc and you have to reboot to make the changes work...So I turned it off and started setup again. So far so good, but its probably a case of only time will tell.0 -

Jeff can you give the make and model of your digital spec booster, and where I can get one from?
I am using an old booster I had and it does make a difference - eg I can only get sky news with this booster
thanks

whats the point of using a device where you can view subtitles but not recording them!
I'll soon get the Humax which should record subtitles as well (any recommendation of any PVR that can do this? - thx)0 -
I saw one PVR that said "Records Subtitles (service coming Jan 2006).". So may come at a later date for some boxes...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0

http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=AP00635&N=411
you will also need a suitable power supply unit:-
http://cpc.farnell.com/jsp/endecaSearch/partDetail.jsp?SKU=AP00851&N=411 this one has 2 tv outputs
Please note the W in the part number refers to wideband. They also do grouped versions Band 'A' etc which are not suitable for digital.
Unfortunately you need an account with CPC and postage is payable for orders under £35 but you can probably get these items elsewhere. Try a search on the internet.

Called the helpdesk for the first time today. My box keeps going to no signal.
The guy unofficially advised me to get a refund, recorded my details for a swap out. But it seemed like I was going to have to wait a very long time until they had working stock the "the importer" made available in sufficient numbers. They are not going to swap out/in dodgy kit so there will be some delay.
It seems to recored OK despite the no signal issue, so have changed my mind AGAIN and am going to wait and see. I have a year for a refund. This signature is not mine!0
