Hi Hobo
I don't think you will need the box to return the item to Aldi IF it is being returned as faulty.
I have returned items in the past on this basis.0 -

No problem. Yes the not is intentional!
Whilst actually compiling the list takes little time, for every 1 person who has sent me a new bug, I've had dozens of emails from people who need help. I think I've managed to help probably more than 90% of them. Don't get me wrong, I like helping people, but I have a lot of other commitments too!0 -
Does this device allow RGB in (scart input from external source?)0

Well I have finally given up,took it back this am and bought a thomson from argos, girl in Aldi claimed they had sold 100 and only had 5 back!.What finally ended it was the numerous lost timeslips and having to reboot as it locked up almost every time you tried to play a recording, 1.6 only made it worse. What goes around - comes around

How are you getting on with the Thomson???0 -
Seems good, touch wood, the ability to record 2 channels is good, the fact it records the last 30,60 90 minutes whatever you have selected means you can rewind at any time, wife thinks it's a big improvement - last night she had coronation street on pause, wanted to start watching this while eastenders was on so recorded that and went to chase play when corrie finished, all without a glitch, the smaller hard disk may limit some though but as I usually watch within a couple of days it should be ok for me, if not you can upgrade the drive...allegedlyWhat goes around - comes around
