Or better still don't switch the PVR on to standby. It only saves literally a few pennies a year in electricity anyway. The calculation is somewhere in this thread somewhere LOL ^^^

Sorry Lorian, I got it wrong. We leave the TV on standby but the PVR in operational mode.

However, your suggestion may explain how the TV could have powered up if the 101 starts to do things by itself!

And, yep, no problem with our remote following the upgrade!!!

I doubt there has been any change in the actual signal level. On version 1.0 of the software the signal level bar did appear to mean something. On versions 1.1 and 1.5 the bar always AFAIK indicated 100% for everyone (or zero under the "no signal" condition). Maybe now it means something again?

Had to update mine manually last night which seemed to go ok, but this morning tried channel 75, CITV, and there was no signal. On my Fusion it worked fine. Will investigate further tonight. Does anyone know what 1.6 should fix apart from handset problems?

We never got a list, but things people have seen include:

    Faster channel changes
    more stability
    more realistic signal strength indicator

I think it is too early to make any generalised conclusions on improved stability. Immediately following an update there has previously been reports of bugs having been removed (example: the "No Signal" bug having been resolved immediately following the 1.1 update) only for the continued reports of the problem returning to previous levels within a few days. There is no noticeable change in channel change speed, although to be fair this never was a problem for me. Channel changes within the same MUX have always been quick and slightly longer between MUX's. The random delay in restoration of audio is still there (taking several seconds on some occasions) as is the transient picture breakup following channel changes.

I have noted a couple of new minor bugs(?) occuring during channel changes and cancellation of recordings (posted here:- http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showpost.php?p=8265717&postcount=29)

The big issue for me is whether they have improved the reliability of the Timeslip feature, namely the occasional freeze and inability to access the Timeslip buffer. Loss of the buffer is a major problem when it occurs as the information is lost forever with no possible workround or recovery option.

I wasn't attempting to - all I was talking about is what people had said on other forums. They could of course be deluded. Subjectively my box does change channel quicker, and the signal level is now believable.

I'm not compiling a list of bugs still in 1.6.

Sorry if my post came across as a criticism of your post Lorian. It was not intended to be. I was simply stating my perception of the situation so far.

Did you intend to include the word "not" in your last sentence?

    Hi guys

Anyone got the original box they would be willing to part with? I fear its time for me to take mine back to Aldi for a refund but since we moved house, I can't find the box but I have the receipt. Am willing to pay reasonable costs to get it sent to me.

    Thanks
